Summary
FLOCK! uses a sophisticated physics engine that drives the challenging puzzle elements of the game. Whether it's using the Tractor beam to move obstacles out of the way, or the Depressor beam to stamp out crop circles to guide your herds, being an extraterrestrial has never been this addictive. Friends can also join in through co-op play. And when all the levels have been completed, users can make their own with the level editor that comes with the game. Flock comes packed with so much content, the potential fun is out of this world! Over 50 levels of pastoral puzzle challenges. Explore levels to find secret collectables and upgrades. Level Editor allows players to make their own "plushie" and puzzle-filled levels and share them with their friends online. Two-player local co-op mode makes the "flocking" exponentially fun. Compelling environments complemented by a whimsical art style, beautiful lighting and distinctive textures make this one of the most graphically-advanced downloadable titles to date. Real-world physics engine creates all new types of puzzles: pick up wooden planks to form bridges, move items to create obstructions, crush wheat into pathways. [Capcom]

Flock! has a few quirks that some players may not fully appreciate, but this is the type of high-caliber title we'd like to see more of on PSN.

Cute, original puzzler with masses of replay value for a bargain price. [June 2009, p.74]

Its enormous charm, simplicity and puzzles will win you over. [May 2009, p.92]
GameFocus
Overall, Flock will draw players in with its cutesy and whimsical world. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you liked the idea of building your own levels in LittleBigPlanet and the adorable world of The Maw, you’ll enjoy the marriage of the two here. But at $14.99, it might seem a little pricey for a downloadable title.

This game is good. It had a lot of potential and succeeded on a few fronts.

Perhaps Flock´s cost is too expensive for it’s real value, but those who are looking for new puzzles will enjoy this new game. A better multiplayer mode and a greater variety of challenges would have provided an unforgettable game.

At $15, it is hard to wholeheartedly recommend a game that, while pleasantly quirky, alienates you, but there is no denying that underneath the bumpy mechanics is a game that aims to please.

As a PSN title, it is solid, but its lack of depth and variety prevents it from becoming a heavy hitter. The game needs more, just not more of the same old stuff.

Corralling livestock is a fun new way to solve puzzles, but some agitating quirks will push the impatient away.

The simple level editor certainly lends it a lot of value, but Age Of Booty had one of those too and that didn’t cost this much.

I don't want to wrestle with a game -- I want to control it. Flock is designed to not be smooth or elegant, and the herky jerky mechanics of guiding animals/stopping to pick up stragglers/guiding animals/stopping to pick up stragglers doesn't make me want to follow the herd.

There’s potential here for something fantastic, it just wasn’t taken there, and that’s a flockin’ shame.

Flock! is a game with an endearing presentation but it's sadly followed by incredibly weak execution in the core gameplay, especially in the offering of campaign levels.

It's funny, but it's not quite fun. [June 2009, p.99]
VideoGamer
It's all a bit sad really. Flock! is an enjoyable game when it all works, but it's far too easy to encounter one of its many soul destroying problems that'll make you wish you were playing something else.

I can't see the value here, outside of the level editor. If you're content to buzz through the single player without posting up the best times/result, you'll finish it in about four hours, and the co-op mode being offline only feels pretty limited in scope.
