Thunderbolt

Comet Crash certainly isn’t the most sophisticated looking tower defense title, but if you pass it up because of its simplistic visuals, you’re truly missing out. It’s chock full of clever design and great unit/tower balancing, plus it has some of the most generally engaging local multiplayer found on the PlayStation Store. Additionally, it might very well be the best RTS on the PS3.

GameSpot

Cunning defensive strategies and the ability to build up attacking armies make this one amazing tower-defense game.

TotalPlayStation

There's something to be said for iterating on an already proven idea. That's precisely what Pelsoft has done with their take on tower defense, and as a result it plays unlike anything else on the PS3 -- or elsewhere for that matter.

IGN

Comet Crash's biggest draw is just that you can finally fight back. It's a much more significant addition than would be obvious at first glance, and the fact that both offense and defense can be juggled at once with minimal headaches speaks volumes about Pelfast's ability to strike a balance between the ebb and flow of combat and defense.

Gaming Age

So visually the game isn't really impressive, but the gameplay certainly feels unique. It's a pretty cool blend of RTS mechanics and tower defense strategies, but nothing about it feels like a retread of something I've played before.

PSM3 Magazine UK

The controls are intuitive, and the action fast, making this a satisfying PSN title. [Christmas 2009, p.91]

Gamer 2.0

Comet Crash is a pleasant surprise with the slow stagnation of tower defense games by adding a new hook that is backed up by quality gameplay that hasn’t been seen since PixelJunk Monsters.

GamePro

Minor complaints aside, Comet Crash does a fantastic job at easing the unfamiliar into tower defense territory, and is well worth your asteroid-powered space bucks if you are looking for a light (yet addictive) strategy title.

What Our Users Said

The average user rating for this game is 9.0 (out of 10) based on 5 User Votes

Z9000 gave it an8:
What sets this tower defense game apart from many others is it forces the player to decide between offense and defense while also managing resources to pay for those efforts. Not quite up to par with Pixel Junk Monsters, but a really engaging and fun game. Settings similar to Military Madness in look and sound (TG16) give a solid Sci-Fi feel to the game. The music is Tangerine Dream/Aria style. Points removed for occasional and worthless puzzle levels which detract from the general game. Points removed for scale being a tad too small (units could have been a little bigger).
