Point Lookout is one of the better Fallout 3 expansions and feels well worth the $10 price tag. There's a brand new area with over a half dozen trippy and exciting missions to find and work through. Plus, there are inbred hillbillies. If you're still looking for more Fallout 3, definitely give Point Lookout a try.

Essentially, Point Lookout feels more like an organic extension of Fallout 3 rather than a collection of missions bolted onto a new environment. A couple of technical glitches aside, this DLC is sure delight players who want to test their mettle in a great new locale.

The new game world looks great, and the omnipresent vegetation is a real change from the barren rock and destroyed highways that we’re used to. At times the frame rate seemed to take a bit of a hit, but this issue never became serious enough to affect gameplay - the action was just a bit less smooth than usual.

This times Bethesda serves us a more free gaming experience compared to the earlier downloadable material. The main questline is quite linear, but the area offers a lot to explore and enough hidden sidequests to please most of us. It’s a very different environment compared to earlier addons, and it features some of the more surreal and odd events and characters yet in the game. It’s not as deep in gameplay as The Pitt was, but instead it offers more diversity. Without question a big thumbs up.

It provides an interesting locale, great story, and some fun new perks and equipment. It's also a bit lengthier than the first few DLCs, with a fairly larger map to explore, rewarding you each time you replay, checking every nook and cranny.

It's the fourth mini add-on to Fallout 3 and if you concentrate on playing the story, Point Lookout only offers two hours of gameplay with no dramatic ending and no real reward. Disappointing.

If you can't get enough of Fallout 3 and want to take a vacation away from the bleak, crumbling spires of the DC wasteland and experience what the past two centuries have done to a quiet spot on the East Coast, Point Lookout does a fairly decent job with its change of scenery.

Point Lookout is a miniature copy of Fallout 3. Alas, just like the original game, the wrapping is much better than the contents, but even this result is a great achievement for Bethesda Softworks. Not only they managed to produce a decent expansion, but finally added their own ideas to the legendary post-apocalyptic universe instead of ripping off stories about supermutants and The Brotherhood of Steel.

While I enjoyed this DLC the most, I have slight disappointment about this particular DLC. Anyone who enjoyed Shivering Isle, will feel that this DLC is almost copy-and-paste version of Shivering Isle. The themes.. swampy green enviroment (rather than Wasteland feeling, this is Dementia.) Classic go-and-fetch quests, the tribal worshipping high-tech-comp. (this is where insane dremora god being worshipped by lot of insane folks.). There is no other energy weapons/power armor other than the microwave emitter. (which by the way is nothing but a copy of mesometron with different stats.) This is a good example of how a dev can recycle their previous content and sell it to the fan base. however, the main story was sorta fun. (but too short.) Explorable dungeons were above average. and thankfully the monsters/enemies were tough and added more challenge, which is why I give 7/10 instead of 5/10.
