I loved season 1, I HATED, HATED season 2, but I loved every minute of season 3. Haven't checked out season 4 unfortunately, but looking forward to checking it out on DVD. I just had a great time watching, that's all there is to it.

Nick gave it a7:
I thought the first half of the third season (Villains) was the worst this show has ever offered, but that the second half (Fugitives) was one of the best. Watch the second half.

Allan gave it a3:
I can probably say that the third season of Heroes is one of the worst seasons I have ever watched, of any television show. And it's 25 episodes! My god. There are about 5 or 6 episodes that are great, and the rest range from below average to terrible. Watch the first season, and you will love it. Watch the second season, and you will be entertained, if put off by the rehashed storylines and rushed ending. Watch the third season and you will wonder how one of the most exciting new shows on television has become simply terrible and derivative. Also, the last fifteen minutes of the season finale contains more stupidity, ridiculousness and just plain terrible writing that you will actually feel offended. And my god, the teaser to volume four is horrendous.

I'm very disappointed with the direction the show has taken this season. It has now completely departed from the feel and the style of the first season. In the first season, each action that happened lead somewhere. Each action was important. Each person was important. Now it feels like the writers have completely forgotten the backstory of each of these characters -- completely forgetting that yes, other things have happened. The characters have all turned 180 degrees several times just for shock value. Sylar is an excellent example. I'm sick of this "He's good!" "No, he's bad!", "No he's good", "No, really, he's bad!" nonsense. Typically I do like the moral ambiguity presented when you have a good character doing something shady or a shady character doing something good, but the character is so 2-D, flipping his loyalties around so quickly is ineffective at best and terrible writing at worst. One could say the same thing for the rest of the crew -- HRG, Mohinder, Peter, Nathan, Tracy, Mama Petrelli. Terrible writing this season. I'm very disappointed.

What once was a fun and interesting show has turned into a weekly hot mess, the characters are just one dimensional cardboard figures that turn each episode into an eye-rolling feast for the viewer. The plots just keep going from predicable to dumb and then dumber each week. The show has gotten so bad that they have started with budget cuts, you never see Petrelli taking off to fly anymore, he just jumps and then they cut to another shot and you hear a sound of him taking off. Cheesyyyyyy.

Frankly I'm amazed and quite shocked that people can give a series a score after a single episode. I at least watched a half dozen before giving it a low 9.

Elgin W. gave it a10:
I'm glad to see Heroes return to it's original form after last seasons horrible display.

Fantasy gave it a1:
What was once such a promising show has jumped the shark. I'm down to Tivoing it now but there are so many different stories going on it's hard to follow. When you stop caring about the characters in which the show has been reduced to a WWF event as in good one moment, bad the next, then back to good, who really cares? Have the writers ever heard of less is more? This will be the swan song as the show is doomed.

Great start to the season. One may see that this season is heading in a great direction. Great so far, the premier may have been awkward and confusing, but it was only created to have people try to fill in the blanks themselves, brainstorm a little bit. Heroes took the once predictable but crazy climaxes into a mysterious darkness that needs to be resolved through a series of unfortunate events.

While not quite as good as Season 1, "Villains" improves drastically over Season 2, so that I'm actually excited to sit down and watch each week. It's not perfect: There has been at least 2 gaping plot holes in episode 4, but the storylines are interesting, the special effects are amazing, and the pace of the plot has really picked up nicely. If you were discouraged after Season 2 I highly recommend you check out Season 3.

Tage E. gave it a2:
The third season is a textbook definition of "Jumping the shark". Either the writers don't care or they're just negligent. Way too much is happening way too quickly and things are changing way to drastically for the show to be meaningful or interesting anymore.

Season one = amazing season two = not so great, but could of been worse (stupid writer strike) Season three = back to what this show is about, amazing story, with plots and twist around every corner, when you think you got something figured out, they shove it in your face and say wrong! great!

Dan The Man gave it a9:
I am loving season three so far. I'm a superhero uber-geek and this is what I look for in a show about "heroes". After suffering through the abomination that was season 2, season 3 is a breath of fresh air. We got rid of superfluous characters, (although I thought Adam got a raw deal), and the action has been ramped up big-time. Last season I dreaded each new episode but this time around Mondays can't come fast enough. I know there are a few annoying things as well, (too many Petrellis, some rather bizarre behaviour and bad dialogue for characters such as Claire and Peter), but I rally love the pace of season 3.

Nathan A. gave it a2:
There were a few intriguing elements but otherwise the season premier was a disparate mess. They have no regard for the characters they set up and too little patience to start them over. Instead, they just change characters (Suresh, for instance) on a whim by tactlessly and explicitly stating their emotions to suit whatever outlandish plot they've come up with next. When this show started out, I had such high hopes for it, but after that episode I'm completely disinterested. It's amazing how quickly they squandered the the goodwill and hope they'd earned from viewers and critics alike. Figure out where you're going more than a season in advance, then go there. And take your time letting that story develop, jeeze!

Mark M. gave it an8:
The anticipation for the third installment has been high. Except it has been so long since the season two finale it's challenging to remember everything that is going on. So far, I personally believe that Season 3 has lived up to Heroes hype. The primary focus being the Villians gives a different change of secenery and let's Kring dive deeper into his dark creative mind.

Jessica gave it a10:
I am loving this season so far! I don't see how anyone can "not" love this show.

[Anonymous] gave it a7:
Not bad, tying up the some of the mess left behind by season 2, hopefully season 3 will improve from here. loved the closing monologue of the first episode, "Second Coming" by WB Yeats.

Doctor O. gave it a7:
1st episode seemed like it tried to tackle too many threads within 2 hours. We'll see what happens over the season... Maybe it was just enough to tease.

[Anonymous] gave it a4:
The problem with writing stories with powerful characters that can practically do anything like time-travel is that you have to be smarter than the audience watching your shows. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Heroes. This show refuses to make any sense and contradicts itself at every turn to the point where we're all rooting for the characters to die in the most horrible ways imaginable.

Navi gave it a7:
Pretty decent season premiere. The only thing that bothered me was how it was turning into Bioshock. Suresh literally injected himself with powers, just like what the main character did in Bioshock. The time travelling storyline also reminded me a lot about Star Trek Enterprise Season 3.

Bill M gave it a4:
Really disappointing. Full of ridiculous twists and terrible writing. Seems like this crew has already told their one good story.

Chris gave it a9:
Its everything I have hoped for, more action, more answers, more questions, more powers, more awesome.

Anthony M. gave it a9:
A return to form after the dreary second season. This is more like it!

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
Loving this so hardcore right now!

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
Brilliance in a jar of fun.

Joey M. gave it an8:
"Heroes" is back at a furious pace this season. Gone (so far) are many of the things that made last season so tedious - though they kept Maya. On the positive side, the first two episodes of this season are action packed and full of plot points that resolve quickly and with some decent payoff. Not quite as exciting as Season 1, but infinitely better than Season 2. I shall be watching!

Jake gave it a10:
Back and better than ever!

David H gave it a4:
I was a fan from the start in earlier seasons, so I had high hopes for this premiere. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find the plot moving in a very negative and somewhat depressing direction. Perhaps I'm a bit old-fashioned, but I prefer the good guys to out-weigh the bad guys by some measurable amount. This premiere didn't even seem to suggest a light at the end of the tunnel...

Jorge L. gave it a2:
I really don't see much of an improvement over last season so far, in fact it looks like it could potentially be worse. The premiere was cheesy, awkward and a little embarrassing to watch or even admit to it.

Parker gave it a9:
After reading some of the reviews for the first two shows of season three... I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed... Not at the show, but how anally retentive, and bitchy an audience can be... Heroes can clearly not win with you people... I'm pretty sure most of you despise and envy the size of the show and its popularity so you actively look for the smallest reasons to annoy yourself with... with that said i find the majority of reviews for these two shows completely unfounded... Season two was heavily criticised for its lack of fireworks and grandieur, i admit thats with good reason, i somewhat felt the same... Roll on season 3 and you are handed all the fireworks and plot twits you will ever need, and you're all still whining like spoilt brats... You cant be pleased, you cant be entertained, you just WANT to disike this show... shame on all of you fake intellectuals who think you're a better writer than anyone else. Just enjoy the damn show already, or turn off, and shut up.

Caspery gave it a2:
Spare me the stupidity and the ensuing fanboy blindness that causes them to act like this show (and LOST) could do no harm. They're both masking inept writing with a false aura of intelligence. If people think either of these shows is a work of genius, rather written above a 4th grave level, what will they accept to be merely good?

Will M. gave it a9:
I was really happy with the premiere. This season is starting off at a must faster clip than last, and I thought that the story arcs being set up seem very intriguing. That said, while I like the "future Peter" character, the proposition of another season of "present Peter" being trapped somewhere seemed tired. They did that last season. My test for a television show like this is how much fun I'm having while I watch it. On that metric, "Heroes: Villains" was a huge success. I'm looking forward to next week.

O M gave it a2:
What a let down! Seems like the "lost" dilemma has ultimately reached this show. Something good gets diluted with hypothetical problems to somehow throw a twist in an already unanswerable question in order to stretch a show for a network. To make more seasons and more money. Seems like they are trying to do too much without staying true to the core of the first season. The Third Season is similar to this comment, a whole lot of words and fluff but doesn't make a lot of sense!

Brad W. gave it a6:
There are SO many characters running around (all of them up to something that's generally mysterious) that the show is becoming really convoluted. Cut the cast in half, throw in a bit of humor, and the show will be back on track.

Fred T. gave it a1:
Still an incoherent mess. Watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles to see how it should be done.
