Big fan of Gervais and his work as well as the series "Extras" but this finale didn't do the series justice. I didn't realize until recently that this was actually the series finale; I guess I skipped over that part of the title. The finale was devoid of laugh out loud moments and I felt depressed everytime Ricky's lady-friend came on with that dreary music. Overall, the finale was unmemorable and is disappointing to a fan like me who has watched the show since it's initial release.

I thought it was amazing- but maybe it's just me, was it not too sad for a comedy, and the sadder bits dragged out? The ending was left open- where do they go? A feasible ending? I loved it overalll though! Ashley Jenson- unafraid to show her brilliance at acting.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

I cried my heart out at the end of that... amazing. what a finale. keep up the great work gervais and merchant. loved the karl pilkington cameo too!

I don't think this lived up to what it could have been. I also thought everything this show said could have been said in half the time.

Craig W. gave it a7:
Funny at times, close to the bone.

Wow! That was different to what I expected it to be and all the better for it. It was more of a drama than a comedy, though it was still achingly funny. I agree with Alan's review below and challenge anyone to watch Andy's speech with dry eyes. What a great message this speech delivered. It is arguably one of the greatest moments in sitcom history. Steve and Ricky deserve the highest praise for what they have achieved and may their partnership live long!

Classic comedy/drama. Made me laugh out loud and cry. We will hopefully see Gervais-Mechant project 3 one day ?

Dilan F. gave it a10:
Amazing, hooked all tbhe way through especially in the final scene in the bb house, gervais' acting is spot on and he really hit home. Bloody good rep.

Randi K. gave it a10:
Ironic that Andy's goal of producing something real and lofty in the midst of acting mediocrity is exactly what Gervais does with this special. Thanks for the glimpse at his--and Jensen's--depth. Well, well done.

Derek gave it a6:
I loved the series, but I'd give this a resounding "eh". It all felt a little phoned in for me.

Jared SS gave it a10:
Possibly the greatest thing Gervais and Merchant have done so far. Wonderfully poignant, genuine, and, of course, hilarious. Even if the comedy is almost as painful as the drama.

Alan D. gave it a10:
I don't ever cry but dammit Gervais you've brought me to tears again! While perhaps a little less funny than the Office Christmas Special (don't get me wrong it's hilarious, but the Office Christmas Special is immaculate), this was just as touching. The speech from Andy to Maggie ranks up there with Dawn's return. Steve's bits with Barry are hilarious as usual. Clive Owen's scene was so funny it was painful. Overall it was a fantastic end to another great series from the world best comedy duo! I only hope they remain a duo.

Mark S. gave it a10:
Andy's redemption makes this a wonderful end to a wonderful series.

Martin S. gave it an8:
The final episode was a little more sobering than I would have expected from this series. However I couldn't agree with it more.

Nicely T. gave it a10:
Andy and Maggie! Have there ever been two better, truer friends on a TV series?
