Canceled right as it was getting good. The vampire "watchdog" group subplot was just firing up towards the end, especially with that list that appeared right as the show signed off. Why, oh why, was this not renewed somewhere? Even vampire genre classics like "Buffy" got off to a slow start. "True Blood" was pretty cheesy as it started, yet it's hitting its stride in its second season. "Moonlight" was a welcome distraction--a new take on the vampire detective show where sunlight was okay, but still not too good (with no stupid sparkles!). Only it was never given enough time to really get going. Sure, it had plenty of flashbacks to "Angel," the worst of which being that they were both cancelled too soon. The acting fell flat sometimes in the start, but it was really hitting its mark as the show got going. And then--no more. Sad times.

What do critics know anyway...they only watch shows so that they can criticize them...Viewers, on the other hand, watch shows to form real opinions and choose favorites. Regarding Moonlight...the critics are wrong.

Moonlight is a beautiful drama about romance and what someone would do for true love. It is also funny and lighthearted and not "dark." With the vampire thing thrown in as an obstacle between Mick and Beth, their romance amps up about a bazillion.

That vampire can bite me anytime. I want this show back. It made my night. I liked it enough to plan around it. The chemistry between the characters filled a void between the reality and the daydream love affair we all wish could happen. The story kept us mesmerized and hanging on the edge of our seats to know what's happening next. Please bring it back. Remember there was a vile of vampire's blood dropped in a drawer for later........Oh, and what's to come of Mick's ex and his brother-n-laws????

You have to be kidding that you are not putting this show back on the air. I watched True Blood and it was nothing like Moonlight, It might be fantasy but we need to be entertained. I am not the only one missing it please put it back on.

Why is this show not back?! A friend of mine got me to watch true blood on HBO. That show does not have the same chemistry as Moonlight but I guess it will succeed because of the "sex" scenes that are lacking any passion. True Blood is cheesy. Bring back Moonlight!

I see that this program has been replaced for the 2008 fall season. Why? This program is awesome. Alex is smokin hot!!!(Mick) And the storyline is believable modern day!

The critics panned Moonlight probably because the first few episodes were slightly cheesy and it didn't seem like anything exciting or clever would appear in this series. They were wrong because by episode 4, the characters, storyline and chemistry of these wonderful characters came to life and the audience was fully engaged and mesmerized and literally hung on every scene of this engaging romance/drama/action series.

This show is absolutely amazing!!! Mick, Beth, Josef and the entire cast have given me the desire to dream and to fantasize as if I was a teenager all over again (I'm 36) as no other show has given in long long time. It's a show that allows us to step aside our daily routines and troubles and urges us to see their cast's love, passion and chemistry. Moonlight is absolutely awesome.

What do critics know? I usually disagree with them, and this is no exception. Moonlight is (or was) my favorite show, and it fit perfectly between Ghost Whisperer and Numbers.

I truly love this show, and I also like the new spin it has given Vampire-shows. If they use a cliché, they also make fun of it - and make fun of other vampyre-clichés which can be found in most series. The reason it's gotten bad reviews from "real" reviewers is because they've got a stick up their ass, and can't separate a good show from a bad. If a show isn't a masterpiece in both story and filming, it isn't worth giving 50%. No grays, only whites and blacks. That's the big problem about movie-critisisms of today. This is entertaining, this is well-made. Possibly not the best show, but one of the better - and obviously others than I like it.

What is wrong with Moonlight? It is clear there is a following. What is that not good enough? Does it have to be so obscene that I’m embarrassed to show my kids like Family Guy? Does it have to be outrageously stupid like sucking up demon in a vacuum cleaner like Reaper does? I mean what does it have to do? Can’t say the strike killed it when crap like Reaper comes back. Moonlight is to me and probably everyone else the greatest show to premier this year and for you to pull the plug is stupid and as all these fans are letting you know a big mistake. So do us a favor let the people with their obscene sense of humor who live shows like Family Guy and Reaper have their show and let us have ours.

Don't understand the rather overly critical reviews of the so called experts (especially Melanie McFarland and Tim Goodman) it seems like they merely want to have their names in a special place and being critics find it more satisfying to give a 0 than a high rating. Returning to the show, Moonlight has the potential to be a good show, I've seen 5 shows (in the UK) and the characters seem to be developing well. Wait and see, assuming the network has the willingness to allow that.

I didn't like the first episode, but I gave it a second try and I liked each one thereafter a little more. It is a fun show to watch that is without all of the intensity of some of the other "thinkers" out there. I think Moonlight is a great finish to a long week. Why do you want to get rid of all the better shows? I am so sick of realty shows, and shows full of violence. (They are the same shows over and over, with just different characters.) Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight are the perfect Friday night line-up. After a busy week at work, I so much look forward to coming home Friday and watching my shows in the evening. The both have a great cast and they are two of the better shows on T.V. I don't think the critic's reviews are the ones that matter, it's the viewers choice, which is presently far better than the critics. If these shows get canceled, I will literally be done with television. It's bad enough that Gilmore Girls and Charmed is gone. There is nothing else to watch, except maybe History or Discovery channels, and there is always the Weather Channel. We wonder why the world is like it is today. The sexual content, violence and horrible language on television is right in front of not only our faces, but our children's. Way too much negativity!!!!! I grew up with Little House on the Prairie and the Waltons, shows that teach good values and the sense of what is right and wrong. These are the types of shows that need to be available for the younger generation. But back to the show in question, please keep Moonlight on. Not only for your viewers, but for the cast that make it what it is. Thank you!!

I love this show and I haven't missed one since it has started. it is about vampires and also because it reminds me of a book my sister and i read it is called twilight by Stephenie Meyer the reason I love this show is because it has action, horror, and romance.

I had trouble deciding which was worse, the acting or the writing. At one point in watching I thought the show would be improved y replacing most of the actor’s with mannequins, at least the mannequins would have been able to express more emotion or interest in what they were saying. The writing was just painful…and that is the nicest thing that could be said about it. I could not force myself to watch the entire pilot episodes.

Moonlight is entertaining, refreshing and a great escape from tasteless reality shows, gruesome forensic programs, redundant medical dramas, and tacky comedies. Finally, a show I look forward to watching and enjoying. Both characters and plots are maturing nicely and there is most definitely potential for this show to move up the rating food chain quickly. Congratulations to everyone involved on winning the PCA for Best New Drama. Obviously ten million people must see something worthwhile in this program. This show is a guilty pleasure. It's actually good though. The critics are just missing the fun. While not perfect, it's a VAST improvement over the 90's style vampire shows.

Ack! Drek! The plots make no sense. St.Johns' stdiously rugged rasp is annoying beyond words. There is a complete lack of chemistry between the vamp and his blond love interest. And they can't even make Jason Doehring interesting which is a sin and I frankly thought was impossible. Get this junk off the air and give us something decent!

This show is a combination of romance and action, I truly believe these critics are soley basing their opinions on other "vampire" shows, such as Buffy. It is a completely differnt angle from that show. Maybe if the critics actually gave the show a chance they might have a differnt opinion about it. Please don't judge a book by it's cover.

I love this show. The cinematography is the inventive, edgy style you'd expect from Joel Silver, and it's always enjoyable and exciting. The British transfusion with regards to casting proved to be a stroke of genius: Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles sizzle and engage in the lead roles. Support is duly given by a brillian Jason Dohring and perfectly creepy Shannon Sossymon. Ignore the complaints and instead look at the ratings and positive feedback: this is an excellent way to spend your Friday 8 o'clock hour.

I started watching the show on the second or third episode, so the secret between Beth and Mick was more slowly revealed to me. Then I saw the first episode and I agree that it gives too much away. Still it is an enjoyable romp. The homes of Mick and Joshua are incredible and Mick is pretty sexy!

I usually don't agree with critics and in the case of Moonlight, many are just plain WRONG! The show is entertaining; a fun twist on an old genre with some good plot lines and twists. The critics are rating this TV show as though it is multi-million movie project. They have much too high expectations. Look at the top rated shows: Heroes is not better and has some horrible acting, the rest are either comedies or boring reality shows. This is no masterpiece with many laughable dialogues and corny one-liners, and some guest actors that are really bad but it is interesting and most of the episodes have good story lines.

The dialogue is often painfully bad, with characters voicing their internal conflicts verbatim. But Alex O'Louglin is a handsome man and the vampire genre is such fun to watch that all its flaws are easily overlooked. Great Friday night fluff.

Definitely worth keeping on the air. A great, exciting, fun show. How disappointing that the critics don't see that. It has so many ingredients that most shows don't have. The filming is beautiful, the stories are interesting, Mick St. John is sexy, and the show isn't heavy or loaded with "filler drama" that nobody cares about. Great show! I hope CBS keeps buying more! I am a fan of Ghostwhisperer, but starting to like Moonlight even more. It's got great chemistry. I think the first show wasn't very good, but heard they got different writers, and it has gotten so much better. Friday nights needed something a more intriguing than the garbage that's on now. None of the shows on television have much of a continuing storyline. Moonlight has a continuing theme that keeps me waiting for Friday night. The show has action, romance, an undertone of darkness, and great actors who literally feed off one another. Whoever said there is no chemistry between O'Loughlin and Myles must be ninety years old, shriveled up, and braindead. This is one of the best shows on television.

Thank goodness we don't take much note of critics as Titanic was given thumbs down and now is a classic. I am just a regular person who really enjoys Moonlight. I've been watching Vamp shows for over two decades...this one won't make it. It's already given away most of it's secrets, and those that remain are pretty guessable. They should have made him older, and given a REAL reason for him to be trying to be 'good'...then they should have kept his 'secret' at least to the end of the first season!

This is my favorite new show...and yes I am a well educated adult, not some starry eyed kid. Mick St. John shines as an untrusting but gentle vampire PI, and Beth could not be better as an internet reporter who is smitten with him. Josef adds the guidance to the fairly young (85 year old) Mick...their friendship is a typical relationship. I think the story line is great; I love the cases that bring Mick and Beth together, and the sexual tension between the two is fabulous. Keep this show ON...Friday night cannot come soon enough!

The vampire mythology is different from other vamp shows (the vamps are not harmed by garlic, crosses...and need extended exposure to sunlight to be destroyed (thus you have vamps going out in the light of day!) Each episode leaves me craving for more. Is it Friday yet?????

I have to admit the show started out slow.....but then came Fever and Arrested Development. Wow, I am now truly hooked and actually find myself watching bits of te episodes over just waiting for the next episode. I haven't done this since WB's Roswell's first season. I love paranormal shows and have watched quite a few, Roswell, Buffy, Angel, Charmed...just to name a few. I find this one has more class and the characters are more my age (so to speak ). I love sci-fi, but I love that this is not all about other worldly creatures, but about humans and how vampires live among them. I have found that I really connect with the two leads and their chemistry is undeniable. To give some idea of your viewers...I am in my mid 30s, 2 kids and have already had a big 8+ year engineering career. If you can grab my interest when I have so few moments to sit and watch a show, then CBS you have got a winner here.

I love this show. It gets better everytime. It is not meant to be Buffy/angel (and I am a fan of those also), so critics please open your minds to something different. Focuses on human/vampire relationships. Nice new vampire mythology. Plenty of angst, action, drama, romance, surprises, and also lighthearted and funny. Nice to have vampire/human protagonists that are adults and not teenagers. Also good to not have a "demon of the week." Good lighting and noirish atmosphere.

I don't know what these critics are smoking, but they are not seeing straight. Moonlight is great. Alex O'Loughlin is the hottest thing on TV. Most viewers are not looking for reality if they are watching a show about vampires. What we are looking for is a sexy, charismatic hero and an impossible budding romance. This show delivers. The other members of the cast add charm and humor making Moonlight thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait for Friday night. I hope CBS realizes they have a winner.

I am (very) old enough to remember the Dark Shadows TV series many years ago. It became a classic. If given a chance, this show will be a success, especially following Ghost Whisper. But, the success of the show will depend on the shows writers. Ann Rice and Stephanie Meyers have written excellent books about the Vampire/Human relationships. Plus, movies like Underworld, and Underworld Evolution were very popular.

I like this show. The acting is excellent and I enjoy the romantic tension between the two main characters. How far can they go without the mythical complexity, remains to be seen. They need to focus more on developing Mic's vampire qualities into the story. It is too simple and not well defined. Right now we only have a detective series with a vampire as the lead character. The world seems very regular except for the fact that there are vampires among us. It just needs a darker setting and more vampire juicy action. When CSI ( the original series) started it had the same feeling as Moonlight, but the special effects and the stories made it different. In addition, after the first seasons you could tell that they change the setting to one with a darker and greenish color that made it more appealing and better defined in terms of style. Moonlight, in comparison, looks very common as it is, but there is that huge possibility in the story that keeps me coming back. It needs a better defined style and darker setting. Ah, it also needs to be promoted.

I have to agree with a previous poster. I'm glad there are vampires on tv this season. Vampire fiction is a timeless genre and it's my very favorite. In reality, most vampire series have short lifetimes, unlike their characters, but I'm very pleased to have Moonlight on CBS and Blood ties on Lifetime this fall. My only problem with the mythos of the Moonlight series is "What's the deal with vampires sleeping in freezers?"

I love the acting, I love the vamps (right down to sleeping in a freezer, that's original,) and I love the story. I have to wait until I get home around Midnight to watch it via the web but I watch it every week (this is one of only a very small handful of shows I can say that about.) I'll be more disappointed in CBS if they let this go then I was back in the `90's when they let Street Justice and Forever Knight be canceled. Let's do our best while Moonlight is still on to let TPTB (The Powers That Be) know that we want this to stay and we won't stand for yet another "Reality" show.

I needed something to look forward to through the boring work week, and this show is it. I disagree with the critics who say it's riddled with cliches; this show's story is quite different from other "garlic/stake/crucifix/exploding demon" vampire fare. And I like the slightly obvious nod to "noir" and "gumshoe graphic novel" moments. I say it's a keeper, and the best part is, for an hour I don't have to see any CSI-type autopsy, political intrigue, military action, or housewives desparately flashing...anything at me...I just sit down and enjoy the view. That's entertainment!

'Moonlight' is a rare gem in the world of television, especially in this day and age where channel surfing is no longer harmless. The consistent rise in good quality with every new episode is still taking me by surprise--the show BEGAN by taking me by surprise, and doing the unexpected. You know it's a good show when at the end of the Pilot you are left asking "Wait...so what are they going to do now? Where are they planning to go with this show??" Of course, that is only after you can stop stuttering and making incoherent exclamations such as, "Oh my GOSH" "Whoa, I mean...WHOA" and "WOW...WOW". This show has an amazing cast and production crew, great writers, teleplay, premise, plots, angles--it has humor, romance like you never thought you'd see on TV, action..in short, it has a great mixture. And the interest that everyone working on the show has in the finished product is just such a pleasure to see. A rarity in almost every way, and shouldn't be allowed to slip through the cracks into the world of forgotten cancellations. It deserves a chance to blossom and grow--considering how much we've started with in just the Pilot, and then the next two episodes, I cannot wait to see how far this show can go if given the chance. It is such an amazing show, I'm still pinching myself; I just can't believe this show exists on television! It is perfect, and it has everything a scifi/fantasy fanatic could ask for in it.

As a Buffy/Angel/Forever Knight/The Hunger fan... This show has potential. I'd add more characters, get some story arcs going, add some underlying plots, hire new writers, and sell it to another network with a later time slot. Forever Knight worked because it took risks. Like an overweight coroner as a love interest. Moonlight needs a time slot and channel that will allow it to be risque and edgy. Unfortunately, it's jumping the shark already by having Mick reveal his secrets to the love interest in the second episode. Be like Smallville. Give us a Lana, but keep us watching till you give us Lois. Complicate the storylines more.

Wow this is bad. I haven't been this embarrassed for a cast since Caddyshack 2. Everything that this show is missing can be seen on TNT everyday on a show call ANGEL. The lead cant hold a candle to David Boreanz and it takes it self too serious. I really hope they drop this show fast. Just Awful.

First episode was kind of weak, but I was drawn into the vampire theme. The 2nd episode was much more dramatic and exciting. I hope the rest of the episodes are more like this.

No, it's not very original. But in a morass of lame reality shows and un-funny "comedies", it's entertaining, & I thought Mick was well cast. Yes, it's somewhat cheesy, but it's the kind of mind candy you might feel like watching when you want to crash on a Friday night after a long week. I would like to have seen them go longer than 2 episodes before he revealed he was a vampire. Kind of ruins the potential for suspense between the characters.

This is the vampire show I have been waiting for. So it has some similarities to Angel and Forever Knight, but those shows have gone off the air. I hope CBS gives it a chance.

Those who complain this is derivative (Angel, Forever Knight, etc.) should remember the basic Beauty and the Beast story descends from the ancient Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche (she wasn't allowed to see him and assumed he was hideous). The story of a supernatural, yet emotionally vulnerable hero will always be appealing. I hope the pilot was simply over-worked by too many people, as many are. I also hope that its seemingly tongue-in-cheek cliche-noir quality was deliberate. I see iMoonlight as a subtle romantic comedy with wonderful potential, but I'm afraid it may simply go under the radar of most viewers.

I actually liked this show...it has the potential to move into something really good. Although there are times when it comes off as quite hokey. They really need to work on the language used as well as the flow of the cast. It needs to sound less fake...less focus on the whole vampire mythology. Of all the vampire books I have read they don't really harp on the fact that they are vampires at any time. If it was more like Blood Ties, I think I would be into it more.

I didn't even finish watching it because it was so cliched. It took the noir detective story and did absolutely nothing new with it. Very much with the melodrama, monologues, and staring off into the distance shots. (Along with the ripping off of Angel).
