Mark L. gave it a0:
The ACLU joke was actually really funny, because guess what right-wingers? THE KKK is a right-wing group, and we lefties defended your right to march! Whoohoo! That was irony, which Faux is really good at presenting...sometimes as actual news sadly.

r C. gave it a10:
Loved the show...sorry it's off the air. The fact that the Libs don't get it, even makes it better. They don't get the Bible either.

Drew M gave it a10:
I am really pissed that they took it off the hour. My Sundays were actually lived waiting for this show. It was a great answer for us conservatives. Finally the left is getting bashed in a funny -- It was a great show and I will REALLY miss it..

Kevin K gave it a0:
Ideology without humor.

Jim gave it a0:
This show is about as funny as invading a country based on fabricated evidence of weapons of mass destruction. No matter how hard they try, they'll never match the comedy in using the exact same fabrications to invade another country, 5 years later. The creators of this show shouldn't be too upset that they lack humor, however. their reptilian single-minded approach to life and politics has allowed what was a marginal faction of ignorant, backwards country bumpkins to virtually dominate America's political process. Instead of trying to out lib the libs, the cons on Fox "News" should embrace their lack of culture and sophistication, perhaps with 30 minutes, every Sunday night, of dead air or perhaps paint drying.

James D gave it a10:
Some of the bits weren't funny, but overall the show was good. They had some good segments poking fun at the left, which of course the left hated.

Dan gave it a10:
Finally, someone makes fun of the left. The left probably doesn't get any of the jokes or is offended by the show.

Henry S. gave it a9:
I think this show is great! Lots of laughs. But this Sunday night it was not on (9/30/07). I certainly hope Fox has not pulled the show off the air because it is definitely better than the other shows that try to offer similar venues. If it is off, please bring it back quickly. Thanks much.

Chris F. gave it a10:
I found the show to be entertaining and very appealing. The jokes were tasteful and smart, not lewd or the crude that you find on most SNL type shows.

Darlene B. gave it a0:
Rest in peace, Fake News Show by the already Fake News Network. But please stay dead. I can't imagine what a Pet Sematary version of your show would be like.

Justin B. gave it a0:
This show physically pained me to watch. I wanted to give it a chance, regardless of the political leanings. It's not funny. It's not even "so bad it's funny." It just made me feel like I was dying. It's seriously /that bad/. If you want to laugh, just watch the real Fox news.

Christopher C. gave it an8:
it was good to have a conservative answer to the daily show, or snl or so many other left-wing programs. and despite the poor user reviews, the show had good ratings all till the end. some jokes may be hard to get if you don't agree with the viewpoint. overall i found it quite funny.

Chris M. gave it a0:
This is proof that evil people can't be funny.

Scott U. gave it a0:
Being told to come up with material of a sort isn't as effective as having a message one wants to deliver. This is pure crap.

Tyler A. gave it a0:
Absolutely one of the lowest things FOX news and Rupert Murdoch have ever done. The ACLU ads were simply appalling. Maybe these neocons don't want their free speech protected by the ACLU? The ACLU is actually protecting these wingnuts' right to free speech and FOX is ripping them for trying to prevent the demonization of former sex offenders???? The Limbaugh-Coulter bits were offensively unfunny, the sketch about men filing sexual harassment suits against women because they felt uncomfortable has now demonized gays all throughout the country, and the "news" segments were painfully tasteless. Just another pathetic attempt by Fairly Unbalanced Fixed Noise to futilely villify liberals and moderates everywhere.

James Y. gave it a0:
It was like telling a joke and forgetting the punch line. Were the hosts real people? That stuff on BBC is not as dry as this program. Waste of money!!!!

Lawrence S. gave it a1:
I tried it. Pathetic. Not a funny moment in the two shows I watched. Bad writing, worse performance. Does the right not understand the concept of irony?

Joe M gave it a0:
Talk about intellectual dishonesty. I don't care if you are a conservative, the show wasn't funny. PERIOD. People who rated the show a "10", are being honest or just a partisan hack? The show was so bad it needed a freakin' laugh track. The jokes were dated and fairly obvious. The way the show targeted only the left pretty much put Fox New's "fair and balanced" claim out the window. But you knew that already, right? Just a dreadful piece of trash. Good riddence.

Erebus gave it a0:
"Funny Conservatives" is an oxymoron.

JR E. gave it a1:
The only time this show made me laugh was when they announced its cancellation!

TrueBlue M. gave it a1:
I'm extremely liberal. But I thought the first moment of the sight gag of Limbaugh as president was kind of funny, given the context. Ditto with Anne Coulter walking through the door as the Vice President. But sight gags can't carry a half hour show. So they are reduced to body odor jokes and making fun of people's names, which wasn't funny in elementary school. Republicans can only do grade school level political humor because sophisticated allusion and wordplay requires a certain level of critical thinking, and being able to hold two ideas at once and laugh at the juxtaposition of things you didn't expect to find together ( I smile everytime I see The Daily Show caption about "Mess O'Potamia"). Many conservatives do not know how to do this kind of thinking, or do not enjoy it. One of the other commenters made a good suggestion: Fixed News Channel should just anthologize all the Daily Show and Colbert Report humor about people on the left. That way they'd get a much funnier 22 minutes a week.

Alex M. gave it a0:
painful.

bob d. gave it a0:
I actually work on 24. Now, the next time I see Joel my smirk will will extra smirky. And let me point out again that perhaps a supposedly Fair and Balanced straight news channel isn't the appropriate place for and ideological comedy show. Or, at the very least it's REDUNDANT.

cindy l. gave it a1:
Feeling generous today I gave the 1/2 Hour News Hour a rating of 1. If you are in high school-well, it might be a tad bit funny. Being an adult-not so much.

Peter S. gave it a0:
They needed the Draft - for comedic writers. The volunteer force wasn't up to the task....

Carol F gave it a0:
They just don't get it, do they? Too bad none of the good comedy writers are right-wingers. This program deserves to be euthanized.

otto b. gave it a0:
It was a comedy show? I thought it was someone filling in for O'Reilly.

Rick H gave it a0:
This show just plain sucks.

Sam P. gave it a1:
Well, the thing about the daily show is truth, done with tongue in cheek. The thing about Colbert is he plays the Conservative pundits better they themselves do, except without the extra effort to cover up hypocrisy. This HHNH just didn't get it. It was like an un-funny Mad TV based around liberal bashing. (But keep in mind, when a connie watches the Daily Show this is exactly how they interpret it. They don't get irony, otherwise they'd have been laughing when Bush 2 was given 4 more years) I'm glad its over with. Maybe they'll watch the Daily Show and take better notes this time.

Jeff W. gave it a0:
I tried to see the humor. I really tried.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
The funniest thing about this show is that Fox ever thought it could succeed in the first place.

Doug E gave it a0:
Awful. Just unredeemingly bad. Limbaugh as comic? Coulter? Neither of them has an ounce of comedic talent. Even if they had the best writers on the planet, they would still suck. And they have the worst writers on the planet. I wouldn't take a leak on this show, if it were on fire. Let it burn. And I've just learned that Fox is cancelling it!!!!! So, all y'all who gave it a 10 (HA!!). Fox doesn't even like it!!!

Mike N. gave it a0:
No humor whatsoever. A complete disaster.

kevin s. gave it a0:
bollocks

Will M gave it a0:
I kept waiting for the "funny part" to roll around. Over the course of the entire show, I didn't laugh once.

Steve H gave it a0:
No laugh track needed... http://youtube.com/watch?v=CJEeyLeqJHc

Pat K gave it a0:
You right wing slow pokes just don't get it. There is no such thing as "conservative humor" because the conservatives in charge in this country are purely pro-business and pro-power, at the expense of all the rest of us. (and as an aside, why do you dim bulbs continue to voite against your own economic interests? How can you still not see what is happening?) Their attempts at humor, therefore, are bound to fail as there is nothing more disgusting than coroprate fat cats poking fun at those who happen not to belong to their exclusive country club.

Tom K gave it a0:
Pathetic attempt to emulate the Daily Show/Colbert Report.

Nicholas Clemens gave it a0:
A right wing satire is not nessesarily a bad thing, but the show isn't even funny! The jocks are all predictable and unoriginal, and putting fictional news on a 24 hour news chanel, while not exactly new, is disgusting.

Tony S gave it a1:
I'm not going to rate this show based on its ideology. I don't think that this show deserves a 10 just because it has a conservative point of view. I'm judging the show on it's own merits, not on the political views of it's writers. The fact of the matter is that the show is awful. It's derivative, unoriginal, and worst of all, it's not funny. In all honesty this is no funnier or entertaining than listening to, say, Michael Savage or Sean Hannity. Conservative humor can work. South Park and Team America skewer Michael Moore, liberal hollywood, PETA and environmentalists, among others, and it is funny. The tragedy of this show is that we need a good conservative comedy news show. But this isn't it and it won't be unless some major improvements are made.

Chris P gave it a1:
This show is not just 'Daily Show for Republicans'. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report don't explicitly target conservatives with their humor. Rather, the two shows are designed the mock the media, pundits, and 'investigative' reporting first, with conservatives often being the victim of collateral damage. For example, the correspondents on the Daily Show, or Colbert's 'The Word' and 'Threatdown' as parodies of O'Reilly and Olbermann. The 1/2 Hour News Hour, on the other hand, lacks the ingenuity of the other programs (or the sometimes clever writing of SNL) and instead makes a bunch of obvious and old jokes targeting liberal stereotypes. Furthermore, the female anchor, the announcer, and Ann Coulter are all just terrible at acting.

John W gave it a0:
I'm pretty sure I never laughed while watching this show. It was bad.

Nick A gave it a0:
Since we're only allowed to watch 24 hour news channels during breaks at work, I was forced to digest this crap during last night's shift. One painfully humorless segment consisted of correspondent Jay Thomas (formerly of Cheers fame) doing man on the street interviews where he queried your average joe/joan types concerning their willingness to elect members of various segments of society, including dwarves, homosexuals, and women. I believe the humor was supposed to be derived from their inane responses. Unfortunately their answers usually consisted of just "yes" or "no." Maybe it's just me, but watching your average dumbasses giving yes or no answers to stupid yes or no questions is just not funny. Another segment featured the billionth tired take on the whole "John Edwards is a closeted queer who preaches a populist message while maintaining a billion dollar account balance" thing, a premise equally as unfunny as the tired liberal "Ann Coulter is a raging lesbian bitch" schtick. We get it.

Linda M gave it a10:
I guess all the people reviewing this that say The Daily Show has no tilt haven't watched it lately. After Bush was re-elected, Jon Stewart totally lost it. He started preaching so much that I just couldn't watch it anymore, which is sad, because I really did enjoy the show before that. Now it's just unwatchable. Colbert is a little more fair, and I really can appreciate his brand of humor, even though I am (*gasp!*) a conservative. However, I'm more than ready for a show that speaks with a voice I can almost hear coming from myself. They do try my patience a bit when they jump on the Christianity issue (I'm an atheist, personally), but I'm really willing to forgive that. I'm saddened by the fact that I feel as though I can't even watch programs that used to be my favorite because of how one-sidedly and outrightly insulting they've become (Family Guy, and The Daily Show...I miss you.), but hopefully this will fill the void left by their loss. So far, they're doing a bang-up job.

Jean B. gave it a10:
I think all those "0" votes are "left" handed.

Patrick S. gave it a0:
awful and just not funny, an embarrasment to the conservative movement. an alternative to a liberal alternative that just doesnt exist. daily show nd colbert attack the powerful, that includes dems and republicans. this awful tripe was obviously written by someone with no idea what humour or satire is

john d. gave it a10:
great show. conservatives have been pushed around by tv liberals for too long. the jokes aren't even half bad. the sad part is that liberal critics will be reviewing this, and give it a terrible rating. too bad, this is what television needs. balance

TIm R. gave it a0:
Derivative of other news satires, but not as satirical. Or funny.

Tim H. gave it a2:
What's comedic about this: Apparently Al Gore's son's drug use is the result of a traumatic experience from his childhood (his parents kissing). How is that humorous political commentary? Marching to the same drum of Ann Coulter's dead son comments about John Edwards, and Limbaughs family dog comments about Chelsea Clinton, this show avoids issues and just takes shots at irrelevant things (family, looks, appearance). But hey with the right doing such a screwy job with the county, what really do they have to joke about?

Steve L. gave it a0:
Wow, this show is bad

Mark O. gave it a0:
This is a very terrible show. I'm not convinced, though, that the poor writing and bad acting are solely responsible. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert serve roles as court jesters for the powerful, while this show sends their clowns out the other way, to ridicule the political opposition, those who have no power. It's a fundamentally flawed concept.

Jack W. gave it a5:
How do you judge comedy? Some people laugh at Monty Python, some people don't. Some people wet themselves when they see somebody get hit in the crotch, some don't. I didn't laugh once whilst watching this. In fact I was cringing most of the time. But I think you have to take it in context. Compared to something like "Family Guy" this isn't funny. But compared to Anne Coulter calling Edwards a faggot, I guess a Marion Berry joke looks kind of witty, even if half the TV audience will need to check wikipedia (or conservapedia) to understand the reference.

Alex G. gave it a0:
Checked it out thinking, hey, i'm a moderate person, maybe i'll enjoy this as much as I enjoy the Daily Show. Possibly one of the worst mistakes i've ever made, and I can't even get my 30 minutes of time back. The jokes were stale, focused on one side of the political spectrum (which, to the contrary of all our bleeding hearts here, isn't very funny), and the anchors themselves were cardboard cutouts of a bad conservative campaign ad. Not worth the time, money, and lack of effort on anyone's part.

Greg L. gave it a10:
WOW! I mean WOW! The 1/2 hour news hour is the most hilarious show ever. I mean take the cure for Hillary Ambivalence Syndrome. it's........... get this....... OxyClinton. Oh ya! OH YA! I 'm laughing so hard I can barely stay in my seat. OxyClinton. Ya.... thats right, OxyClinton. Whew. A real side buster. So for all you liberals that don't find this funny, just listen to the uncontrollable laughter; listen to it!I You can't fake that................OxyClinton, man thats funny.

Eric C. gave it a0:
I hear the show didn't cut it and going off the air ... for obvious reasons ... it's NOT funny.

ox<

Andrew C./B> gave it a0:
Tries too hard.

Jen gave it a1:
I gave this a 1 for trying, but other than that, it was forced and very unfunny. I love The Daily Show, and just so you know, not everyone who watches TDS is a hard-core liberal. I'm not, but I find it hilarious. For those who wrote that The Daily Show only makes fun of liberals, it's painfully OBVIOUS you've NEVER watched an episode of The Daily Show in your life. Stewart makes fun of EVERYONE: democrats, moderates, conservatives.Plain and simple: if you think this show is funny and TDS is pure crap, you my friend, have a HORRENDOUS sense of humor.

Matt P gave it a0:
I watched it with a self-professed moderate recently, who told me it made him ashamed to vote Republican. It serves to remind everyone else what a great job other shows can do night after night and week after week when actual comedy writers are used in the production of a show.

Ginna R gave it a0:
This was absolute crap! What a train wreck. I've watched Fox News for years but this makes me want to find another channel and makes me not take any of their real reporting seriously. The Daily Show and Colbert report in my view also suck but they are on Comedy Central. This crappy show doesn't belong on a Cable News Channel or on TV for that matter. Its pure torture to watch.

Matt S. gave it a10:
What a great and refreshing show! It just goes to show that anything the left-wing critics hate is absolutely worth watching. The political satire is absolutely a scream, especially seeing the people usually caressed by the the media and not subject to the same scrutiny as the right. This is definitely not a show portraying right against left, it is portraying right against wrong. Bravo Fox News, bravo!

racqueteer gave it a1:
This show makes fun of liberals the way a 5th grade class clown makes fun of a substitute teacher. Luckily there's a Disney-Channel-style laugh track (roaring laughter immediately following every supposedly humorous line) so the viewer can tell what to guffaw at. To paraphrase Larry the Cable Guy: "I don't care who you are, that's just not funny right there."

Mary F. gave it a9:
At last......humor directed at the correct target.

liber tarian gave it a0:
I found Dennis Millers insistence that not finding WMD's was a good thing and had no impact on the analysis of the effects of American Foreign policy to be terrifying to say the least. And how can conservatives hate the ACLU so much. Who can be against some lawyers constantly being devils advocate in the name of defending our basic constitutional rights.

Traci gave it a9:
For those of us who are actually informed regarding the news and the countries' leaders, the show is pretty good. The ACLU ads are excellent as well as Dennis Miller's rants. The rest of the show will probably evolve as it continues.

Phil T. gave it a0:
Who would have thought intolerance could be so funny! Except they have a broad on the show; if they were REAL conservatives, they'd only let white guys be the anchors.

Whitney A. gave it a0:
Really, really, really awful. This is on a REAL news channel -- showing fake news. It's like Fox wanted to say all these things during the "real" news but can only get away with it in a "satire" (yeah, right) show. Not funny, tries way too hard, and ridiculously partisan. I give a 0, 'cause I can't imagine it getting much worse. (I will give it this: like Fox itself, they're often wrong on the facts. The ACLU jokes just seem kind of stupid for anyone who knows ANYTHING about the ACLU not spoon-fed them by the media.)

Pete T. gave it a10:
Funny stuff! ! !

Bob Dole gave it a10:
Excellent show, you shouldn't just let liberal wieners do all the ratings.

Christopher B gave it a0:
Do these folks really think that a comedy show should have an ideological agenda? It's astonishingly stupid to think that the Daily Show and Colbert are just liberal platforms that happen to be funny. Um, no. They are brilliantly written and performed shows that make incessant fun of idiocy in power. They are leaning left right now (at least to the seething neocons) because the right wing has nearly cornered the market on self-righteous ignorance. Don't worry, though, Democrats will always have their hands in the trough, too, and Jon and Stephen will be there to give them a high colonic of truth!!

Goober L. gave it a0:
HHNH is exactly the sound I make when I'm squeezing out a very large dookie. The fascinating thing about this show is that everyone who loves it is saying the same thing: "Ha, take that you PC Democrats!" as if TDC and Colbert are political soapboxes. No, they're just REALLY brilliant and funny shows that just happen to lean left because making fun of pompous blowhards is really funny, and most of the most supercilious, self-righteous, pompous blowhards (but certainly not all) tend to be Republicans. It takes a colossally unfunny ignoramus to think that it's a good idea to base a comedy show on political ideology.

Win m gave it a0:
This show is god awful. As a conservative 'balance' to the Daily Show it fails in every way. It actually makes the Daily Show look more central. As a comedy show its funniest thing is the horrible laugh track. The attacks on the ACLU are probably one of the worst ideas ever (and sadly perhaps the funniest segment). Conceptually they have no potential, and in practice they seem to be saying your constitutionally granted rights are funny to us. Any conservative that wants to see something funny should watch Dennis Miller (who himself is only funny if you have no idea about the historical things he refers to).

Happy Right-Wing gave it a10:
Great show and tells the truth about the world issues unlike the liberals that like to cover the truth and lie.

Lindsay B gave it a10:
Thank Goodness conservatives can laugh at what all the rest of the world is to the left on. Don't be mad democrats that you are getting the truth being told.

Tim C. gave it a0:
Truly awful. I watch it because I get pleasure out of watching tripe, but the last episode crossed the line from lame to banal. There wasn't one genuine laugh to be had. Even Dennis Miller--who's occasionally good for a smirk--was a cold as a two day dead fish.

Warne G. gave it a0:
Apparently Dennis Miller believes there's good money in being a fascist.

Kathy H. gave it a10:
It's hilarious! I love it! Finally, a conservative answer to the very leftist Saturday Night Live, Daily Show genre. You just know it really is ticking the liberals off.

[Anonymous] gave it a1:
political leanings aside, the show's not funny. at any rate, stephen colbert is the conservative counterpart to jon stewart (for those of you crying about unfairness)--colbert himself is a parody of bill o'reilly. i'm all for free speech, but i don't like lying--so fox should cut the "fair and balanced" drivel.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
this show just hurts to watch...content this bad is downright painful no matter what side of the aisle it comes from

Christian W. gave it a0:
Oh. wow....ouch. Yeah, that's about the clearest and most direct route to not funny I think I've seen. Forget even the content.....delivery....timing....bad Charles in Charge laughtrack...crap fox news graphics and lame cameos by radio personalities........it's still not funny. regular fox news shows like the beltway boys and bill o'reilly is ten times more hysterical.

Nick M. gave it a10:
I understand why many people gave this negative reviews......the first few episodes were shaky and seemed like they were trying too hard....but they've really gotten it right now, and it is now a witty and clever political comedy.

daily show gave it a0:
This show SUCKED!!!!!

Justin P. gave it a10:
Like most shows on TV, this show is aimed at a niche audience. And that niche audience likes it a lot. People who disagree with it's views will be endlessly annoyed by it, no matter how much it makes fun of conservatives. Like the Daily Show, some people will probably watch this show just to have their personal beliefs validated and just to see the opposing view attacked. But if you watch this with the Daily Show, it will make you stop and think about your beliefs, whatever they are.

Andrew B gave it a1:
I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican, if you think this show is funny, you're an idiot. I give it a 1 only because it is funnier than a test pattern.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
Only funny if you hate liberals.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
Only funny if you hate liberals.

Dave D gave it a0:
Pure dreck.

Bob R gave it a0:
Absolute 0... I like watching FOX news, it's entertaining to see those lackies blab on about subjects they know nothing about, but this... Absolute garbage. And for the record, Stewart and Colbert may lean left, but this show is outright Conservative and heavy handed.

Christine NYC gave it a1:
This is really terrible. Daily Show is funny because it finds all politics funny. It finds humor anywhere it can find it and makes fun of democrats regularly. HHNH has an agenda and is trying way too hard. Just a train wreck to watch.

Michael N gave it a0:
This show is a humiliating failure.

Roberto V gave it a0:
I just didn't think it was funny. Although I agree with the absurdity in the segment on American Civil Liberties Union, there was no punch line at the end.

Jimmy J gave it a10:
I'm giving this a 10 to do my small part to keep this on the air because I really think that a weekly half hour of neocons trying to be funny just serves to make younger folks say to themselves, "Yeah, these are the type of people I want to associate myself with." But for those of you who are "seriously" giving it a 10 and trying to defend it, come on. Lay off the kool-aid. I know that "The Daily Show" and "Colbert" tick you off but try to take ideology out of the mix and just see this for what it is. This is painful, god-awful stuff. It reminded me of a couple of high school kids trying to do a "Weekend Update" schtick. Come on now, folks. Nobody's listening. You're all alone at your computer. You can admit it. This blows like a Class 5 hurricane, doesn't it? There now. Doesn't that feel better? What Fox really needs to do is try to buy the rights to those clips from "The Daily Show" and "Colbert" where Stewart, Colbert, et al. are skewering the Clintons, Pelosi, et al. Between TDS and CR, there's eight shows a week. The clips slamming the left from each of them would easily fill up 22 minutes of air time for Fox and it would be light-years funnier than what they've got now with this.

[Anonymous] gave it a1:
oh man is this lame!!!

George D gave it a0:
This is just painful. i'll laugh at anything remotely funny, but the only humor this show has provided has been the reviews

bob g gave it a10:
This is a great show, needs to be extended to an hour. Its nice to see what real people think instead of the liberal dripple that the main stream news seems to report. sometimes it seems like the big 3 networks all get there reports from the same reporter?

Jason M gave it a0:
Anti-humor at it's absolute best.

k von gave it a0:
This show is the worst excuse for comedy i have ever seen. Its got an overused laugh track, and it needs it because there just isnt anything funny. We get that the writers hate liberals, and that they think they are dumb, but, that in itself isnt a joke, nor is it enough to fill 20 minutes of entertainment. I gotta admit, this is the lamest thing i have seen in decades. Its a cheap knockoff of the daily show, except with an agenda and no sense of humor. Conservative humor is out there, and it can be funny some times, like Dennis Miller, but, this just doesnt come close to anything remotely entertaining to anyone. Can i rate this below a zero?

dave the blue gave it a0:
I have to say, as a long term republican, this show is an embarrassing failure. Is this the best that we can come up with? No wonder we're so unpopular: we appear to be unbelievably dull by nature. That and unimaginative, risk averse, and uninspired. And with a very low expectation of the intelligence of the average viewer. Fox must really think that we're a bunch of knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers to find this funny. I sat through the whole thing without a single chuckle. I only made groans and sighs. Fox, end it now. You're embarrassing us more than Bush on his worst day.

allan c gave it a0:
Absolute garbage. Worst 30 minutes on television, Ive seen infomercials that have been funnier.

Chris E gave it a3:
Jokes and satire not very witty, predictable most of the time. Wish there could be a funny right wing show that could make fun of the other side while poking fun at themselves. There is plenty of material out there and "1/2 Hour" seem to miss most of it

ixat gave it a1:
Look, I believe that conservatives can be funny, and the left in America does give plenty of material for derision. But... this... oh my god. You know the show is in trouble when their supposed antagonist - Jon Stewart - skewers Democrats so much better.

Colin H gave it a0:
Oh my god. It's just an agenda show made to give Conservo-Bots something to watch. There isn't anything funny on this! It's just another echo-chamber to reside in. RUN, SAVE YOURSELF.

a j gave it a1:
Not as funny as the Fox news channel. The rest of the 23 1/2 hrs on Fox news is funnier. Please keep this show, it fits FNC pretty good

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
This show is awesome! It portrays the democratic party (socialist party) in blunt truth form.

Franklin M gave it a2:
Man I am really disappointed in this show. I watched really hoping that I would finally see some good comedy about thos lefties and what do I get? Coulter trying to be funny. I like her rants about liberals just like the other guy but come on. She is not funny. I just wish we could be a little more original. We don't need to copy the Daily Show. We can do better.

Cherry Vanilla gave it a0:

Just sad... depressing even.

Paul W gave it a10:
Very funny stuff... Finally some balance to the Daily Show and other left wing show!

Lance gave it a2:
The satire is pedestrian and lame. It's "Weekend Update" at its very worst. It's very sad to know that people actually think this stuff is funny and that this show is getting good ratings. I knew conservatives had bad taste in comedy, but not THIS bad. Along with "Red Eye", another example of FoxNews' decline.

Brendan D gave it a0:
Anyone criticizing this program from the left or praising it from the right has no idea what makes good comedy. The fact is, I don't really give a damn what somethings political slant is if it's entertaining. I consider myself progressive, but Ted Nugent rocks (especially with the Amboy Dukes), and Charlton Heston was a great, great actor (anyone disputing that, tell me, who else could've played Moses?). "The 1/2-Hour News Hour" doesn't suck because it's a rightist show; it sucks because it's not funny. The Marion Barry joke, which was the funniest point of the Rip Obama segment, is a stale one. The rest of it just wasn't funny. "B.O.?" Really? Is that the best conservatives can do for comedy? I think not. Look, there are insanely talented conservatives out there, funny ones who deserve just as much recognition as anybody on the leftist front. Trey Parker and Matt Stone of "South Park," for example, are middle-rightists, if you pay attention to that sort of thing; but the difference between them, the real comic geniuses, and the hacks putting on this ridiculous display is that Parker and Stone are too funny to get caught up in partisan crap. They're not looking to win approval from a certain segment of society. As for those of you criticizing "The Daily Show" as "too liberal," I ask you, have you watched the show? I'll grant you that Jon Stewart is a liberal himself, but he would've been off the air years ago if he weren't funny. The fact is, the man's hilarious, as are the other writers and "anchors" on the show. Similarly, Stephen Colbert is a near-genius comic mastermind who channels both Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann in one of the funniest pairings I can think of. See, that's what makes comedy funny: the ability to, y'know, BE FUNNY. I'd watch "The 1/2-Hour News Hour" again if it actually had something funny going on, but frankly, I don't need my ear jawed off by commentators who will do nothing but make fun of liberals the entire time. At least "The Daily Show" takes pot-shots at both sides.

Robert H gave it a0:
WOW! does anyone know what the meaning of left winged is? First this show is not funny, the jokes are so predictable, and just NOT funny. Second, the daily show is not left winged, it makes fun of both sides, and in recent weeks I've seen TONS more material on Democrats. Third, most networks are NOT left winged, it's just not in their financial interest, they may be democratic just because of their beliefs, but democrats are not left winged, they're between Republicans and Independents who are left winged.

Ben W gave it a0:
This was by far the worst half hour of television ever, just awful. It's fine to do right wing humor however this was so unfunny it was shocking. I have never EVER watched a comedy that was so unfunny. I actually thought about sucide after watching this it was so bad.

Rich gave it a10:
Finally the liberals who control all of the newspapers, and 99% of television (we'll exclude FOX, for obvious reasons, but don't you dare try saying the other television stations and channels are conservative) have a program that makes fun of things that the lefties believe in so much. The show is done in satire. If you knew what satire is, you'd understand the show's meaning. And yes, we're all saying that this is a Conservative response to the Daily Show..to say this as a negative comment is invalid, because remember---the Daily Show is a rip of of Weekend Update (another liberal show that hasn't been funny since the 90s). Suck it up---if you don't like it, don't watch it.

KC C gave it a0:
Oh.....My.....God..... What are these people thinking? Better question: Why aren't these people thinking? I've seen better comedy on The Many Faces of Death series. Limbagh and Coulter? Again? Is this the level of creativity and diversity we're going to see? The same lame jokes *every* week? I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that considering this is a group that is still subsisting on Clinton jokes that are, politically speaking, older than the earth itself. No points for originality No points for creativity No points for diversity of material No points for diversity of topic One point for actually getting a chuckle out of me -5 points for the chuckle being out of pity rather than humour Can we give a negative rating?

Stewart k gave it a0:
I wish I could give this one a minus rating. It's hard to tell the difference between this show and regular Fox News Programming. Actually, there is a big difference. Regular Fox News is much funnier. When you have chuckleheads like O'reilly and Hannity and Colmes, how can anyone comedy show compete

Boyd P gave it a1:
The 1 is for production values--this show is well-produced and looks much like The Daily Show and others you'd find on Comedy Central. But that is the problem: those shows are on COMEDY CENTRAL! This is on FOX NEWS! A news channel should not be airing comedy (as if to say Fox News's coverage isn't funny enough already). The Daily Show and The Colbert Report both air very late at night, which is why they get lower ratings than a show airing at 7pm. That said, The Daily Show pulls in better ratings than this one--a midnight show trumping a prime time show? That takes some work. I watched two episodes back-to-back with my conservative parents. In the entire hour, I laughed only because it was attempting comedy and failing miserably; my parents laughed once. It is a sure sign of comedic failure when my conservative parents ask to change the channel. I'll give Joel Surnow credit for 24, which I watch and enjoy. But this Half-Hour News Hour is PAINFULLY unfunny. The show is filmed before a live studio audience and still needs to rely on canned laughter. Wow... that really says it all.

Tawne C gave it a10:
funny..the ratings are good from the people..and negative from the liberal press. Your own medicine doesn't taste so good huh?

sc alex gave it a9:
good satire. Lighten up all you lefties.

andy a gave it a0:
terrible

JIm gave it a9:
Yes us right wingers do think it's funny. Even funnier than all the left wing people saying how horrible it is. I don't find idiots making fun of President Bush to be funny but the jabs at the ACLU are great and right on target. Deducted 1 point for the canned laughs.

Mike B gave it a0:
This is the worst show I have ever seen. Writing is terrible. The jokes are just stupid. The two News Anchors have no personality. The content simple is cheap, it's not satire, it's right-wing puke. There act on the ACLU is just baseless. Is there a live audience? It's pretty sad when the jokes are so stupid they need a laugh track...... I still don't understand why a News Channel feels it needs to compete with a comedy show. Are they feeling that threatening!!

Tom B gave it a10:
Outstanding!! Very funny!

b k gave it a1:
i didn't expected in to be 'daily show' quality but i did expect a lot more than this. is there such a thing as a funny conservative?

Dave gave it a0:
It's telling that some reviews compare this show (unfavorably) to Weekend Update - the 1/2 Hour News Hour is as bad as the worst of Norm McDonald and Colin Quinn rolled into one show.

[Anonymous] gave it a4:
Sorry my reviews short, but i have to get to my weekly liberal critic conspericy meeting to discuss how to pan shows because they aren't liberally biased enough. Our guest speaker's name is Osama! anyway, show isn't all that funny. P.S. The daily show isn't liberal. It makes fun of clinton and obama just as much as they do for the republicans who are in power.

Richard R gave it a10:
Well, well. Almost all zeros or tens. Hmm. Could political voting be goin' on? Nah? Nobody here but us Wingnuts and Moonbats. And we're all fair and balanced.

scott gave it a0:
utter crap

Charles W gave it a0:
This is supposed to be a comedy show - a conservative answer to "The Daily Show". I think Fox News has finally realized that its elderly current audience is going to eventually die (Bill O'Reilly's views median age is somewhere in the 60's and rising) and "The Daily Show" is attracting more and more young people every day. Of late most conservatives just plain avoid the tag-team of comic virtuosity that is Stewart followed by Colbert. Bill O'Reilly tried his hand on Colbert but I think Bill just realized that like most things that involve complex thought processes and ideas and concepts that aren't 100% with us or against us black or white type concepts - that he just didn't understand what Colbert was saying. Colbert just tired Bill out and left him looking like an old man gasping for some kind of gusto to propel a counter attack that never came. Cue - The Half Hour News Hour - Fox's own "Daily Show" for Conservatives. The supposed humor is kind of like President Bush's "Barneycam Christmas" videos. I can't help but feel that it probably has a similar effect on others as it did on me. It kind of engenders the same feeling as is someone forced you to watch a tape of your mom and dad attempting some form of passionate looking Latin Dance like "The Lambada" in a packed club on their wedding anniversary 15 years ago. You want to smile and politely cheer them on but it's so bad and so grindingly embarrassing that you just can't stand it. The anchors are so artificial they might as well have the name of a major japanese auto maker printed on their plastic chests. I suppose the funniest joke is when they do a bitter and mean-spirited attack on Barrack Obama and they give him an Oprah style magazine called BO Magazine (BO - Body Odor - Funny huh?) but the best bit is actually the fact that on the cover of the magazine one of the articles is "A life in politics: My 18 month journey". If they had more stuff like that which was actually true - Obama has little experience - and had some kind of comic punch, timing and talent this might have been a two. The show could never be more than a two because that would require that they actually have the ability to laugh at themselves - that they have humility, empathy, and good comic delivery. They have none of that. 1/2HNH Is doing a wonderful job of one thing - showing American conservatism up to be what it is - Out of touch with reality, regressive, hate and fear driven, arrogant and ignorant. This show is like pulling your own teeth. Slowly. With fingernail clippers. And no anesthetic. I hope Fox don't cancel it. I hope it's on forever. In the future this show will be used as a teaching tool for students of comedy. It's like one of those "How many fire hazards are in this picture?" type exercises - how many comic timing mistakes, tired out-of-date jokes and just plain bad attempts at humor can you spot? 0/10 - It's awful

Ted gave it a10:
Wow. It's amazing that the left thinks they have the corner on funny. Give the show some credit...the stuff on the ACLU was hilarious. While the Daily Show delivers mostly veiled ad hominem attacks, this show actually lets you laugh at the sheer lunacy of the left in this country. No name calling necessary. It doesn't surprise me that left-leaning critics didn't like it. And not for nothing, but The Daily Show didn't start off as successful as it currently is. I'm willing to give this a few episodes to finds its groove. The first episode was funny enough to deserve it.

Mark gave it a0:
It's as if Stalin in the 1950's tried to do a comedy show. It's scary to see just how hard these self-righteous, dogmatic, intolerant conservatives try to be funny.

Chris M gave it a1:
I can't imagine the producers/writers do a worse job on this. However, I'm sure it's possibleolbutt, so I gave it a 1/10. I also cannot imagine anyone, on the right, on the left, or in the middle (where the majority sit) finding this anything but painful to watch. What's with all the trolls on here spamming this site with positive ratings? If you want great humor with a right wing slant, go read some PJ O'Rourke. It just doesn't get stinkier than this.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
Predictable trite, as one reviewer said, its almost a self parody of the insanity of the neocons, It seems to want to paint the ACLU who deal with serious issues in some kind of caricature. And watching this newest episode, it jokes around about American hegemone, to think Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are making yet more money and airtime with this drivel....

Josh gave it a0:
Why is everyone making this a political issue? I'm an ultra conservative and I still thought this sucked because it just wasn't funny. I happen to LIKE The Daily Show because it is, in fact, funny. I don't agree with Jon Stewart's opinions, but he does a funny show. This is just stupid.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
I just had to record a couple episodes of Fox New's rip-off of the Daily Show. Rush as President and Coulter as Vice President. I was wondering if the righties found the show funny... and why is it on a "news" network? I tried to put myself in the right's shoes while watching it, and all I felt was embarrassment for them. Nothing was funny, like, at all.

James M gave it a0:
This thing is truly horrible, but it will play to the lowest common denominator, which is where it's aiming. Funny is hard work and it is difficult to write material that is satirical but not actually cruel or sophomoric. The Daily Show and Colbert have the unique ability to laugh at themselves which the right completely lacks. Also, Colbert and Stuart are much better at making fun of the left. Their priority is humor. It works because politics, politicians and the media are all absurd and funny- on both sides. BTW I read the Wa Po article and I would hardly call it a rave review. He basically said it might not be a total disaster. He is probably right, Fox viewers are used to doing what they are told to do. If they are told to watch this crap, they will. I hope this show dies very quickly.

Stephen C. gave it a0:
Why do people hate America? For a start, how about a show being aired on a cable NEWS network that spends 7 minutes making fun of Muslim names for no apparent reason than that they are alien and funny, that allows Ann Coulter to make jokes about wondering "which countries have we not bombed yet?", and... well, that should be just about enough.

jackie gave it a0:
this hurt. literally. :( the second episode was alright, until it became entirely bigoted. oh, haha, all the terrorists have been muslim, this means islam is not a religion, it's a terrorist organization. wow. congrats guys.

Galen L gave it a0:
this program was so dull I almost didnt notice it killing my soul.

Mike P gave it a10:
Great show!

michael c gave it a0:
Deliciously awful. If I didn't know any better, I'd think that Joel Surnow was a liberal genius who created some sort of self-referential parody of what conservatives find funny. Something along the lines of: "Let's tell Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter that we want them to appear on our new 'conservative' comedy show, and then film them making fools of themselves in an intentionally unfunny skit." Punked! I'm giving The 1/2 Hour News Hour a rating of 4/10. (Note: this is NOT a rating of four out of ten, but rather, four-tenths of one point. Unfortunately, this site doesn't allow fractional ratings, so I'll have to round it down to zero.)

Dave B gave it a0:
Are Republicans really this stupid? I watched the March 4th show a few minutes ago, and I'm stunned at how unprofessional and unfunny it was. How did the guy working the laugh track know when to turn it on? By the way, great timing having Ann Coulter on. Again, are Republicans really that stupid? Yes, they are.

noe g gave it a0:
just terrible

Joseph G. gave it a10:
Hahaha. Great show with wonderful moments of humour. I'm eager to see where they go once they're out of the pilot stage. I wish some of those shirts were real. Only reason it has poor ratings on this website is all the lefties are offended by the subject matter. If they had an open mind maybe they'd laugh a little more.

Matt K gave it a0:
Realizing that Fox News is losing viewership at its fastest rate ever, Rupert Murdoch is desperately flailing around and grasping at whatever he can to save his laughable "Fair and Balanced" network. The nasty by-product of this feeble attempt is the "1/2 Hour News Hour," a trainwreck of a show. I am a paleoconservative, and do not find this funny in the slightest.

Jeff A gave it a0:
For the love of god. I don't know what was more lame, the skits themselves or the fat white red-staters in the audience laughing like jackasses. Somebody put out of my misery, please, before I accidentally stumble upon this trash again!

Someone needs to be fired over this.

Nutstoyoutoo gave it a0:
I cannot imagine why anyone would voluntarily watch this show. It does exactly the wrong things that funny fake news (John Stewart, Steven Colbert, some SNL 'Weekly Updates') thankfully don't: it's relentlessly political, never takes more than 30 seconds to set up and deliver a one-liner joke, and to add injury to injury, also can't even find funny punchlines. Watch 2-3 John Stewart clips: he'll make fun of the Democratic presidential candidates, laugh at Anna Nicole Smith's court case, poke fun at Cheney and them himself - he lampoons everything. This show skewers only liberal targets, delivers the 'jokes' one after the other, and sounds more like two drunk conservatives cracking awful jokes than a comedy show. Comedy, after all, is supposed to be FUNNY.

Pedro V gave it a0:
Boy that was rough. Were they trying to be that bad? Was that the joke and I missed it? I felt like I was back in middle school watching the A/V kids do the school news. Fox should stick to what it does best, lie and bully the American masses. Wow, that was bad. Brought to you by the Republican party, home of rich people and rednecks!

Tony B gave it a0:
It was just ridiculous.

Chris D gave it a0:
I've only seen a small clip, but it's enough to show how force this show is. The humor is really bad and the audience sounds really forced (reminds me a bit of the America's Funniest Home Videos audience). You don't have to be Democrat to love the Daily Show, but it doesn't matter which party you are for this one: it sucks on both ends.

Steve W gave it a10:
Great show! I would watch it if it got picked up!

jon m gave it a0:
obvious, lame, boring, and just simple minded

Clay S. gave it a0:
This is just horrid.

Greg M gave it a0:
Real humor is about exposing the absurdities of modern life and confronting uncomfortable cultural truths and trends. Modern American "conservatism" is about spewing absurd anachronistic babble with a straight face and redefining "truth" until it is devoid of any meaning whatsoever. Genuine "humor" is not compatible with the ideology of the New Right. PS: This show sucks.

Denise B gave it a0:
Not worth watching.

Taylor D gave it a1:
Wow... this was just flat-out painful to watch. Like seeing a ugly guy trying to hit on a playmate... sad, pathetic and humiliating for all involved.

Vito C gave it a0:
Full disclosure: I am a liberal. I don't plan to vote for Barack Obama because he has very little experience on the federal level. I don't mind having conservative comedy, but how can anyone think this is funny? It honestly offends me to think that anyone believes people watch The Daily Show solely because it has a liberal bent. It also happens to be extremely funny on a level completely unrelated to politics. This show is not. Put aside your political differences and ask yourself if you'd watch this if it weren't politically motivated. And since I'm sure this is meant to appeal to the younger demographic (who like the absurdist humor of South Park or Daily Show), ask yourself whether this is the way you want your side to be represented. But that's all just trying to be neutral. Personally, I would enjoy it if this show was on the air for years. If this is what conservatives consider funny, I can assure you, that makes me very, very happy.

James F gave it a9:
A seriously FUNNY show. The ACLU skit, VP Ann Coulter and the part with the "6-degrees" global warming guy were hilarious. Notice how many of the low reviews are just blog entries? Metacritic didn't even bother to add the Washington Post's rave review, since it might have messed up their averages. The only thing that would make it better is if they were more up-to-date, but that will change when Fox picks up the show for good. Well done!

Steve M gave it a10:
it sucks

Mike M gave it a0:
I laughed at the joke about Hillary, I felt the jokes about Obama were both boorish and uninspired. And I thought the joke about cancer was atrocious. The rest of the show was just boring.

dave f gave it a0:
This show is no different than I hear on a daily basis on talk radio. America is a two party system, it pains me to hear attacks on either party. It aids our enemies.

Steve gave it a0:
The US has sent some great comedy shows across the pond over the years, but this isn't one of them. You could just see the writers trying to think of ways to satirise people who aren't in power. I can't believe my Tivo thinks I might want this show saved next time.

Chauncy W gave it a0:
I have never gave a review 0 out of 10 before because usually I kind find some sort of redeeming value. However, this truly deserves 0 out of 10. No joke.

Matthew J gave it an8:
A solid start to what should turn out to be a great show. God knows there's enough material coming from the loony left every day. Some of the jokes fell flat, sure, but about 80% of the first episode had me and my buddies in stitches. That's a much higher ratio than Colbert (which this show beat in the ratings, by the way). One more thing: I don't like how Metacritic is skewing these ratings. Including the Slate "review," which was simply a review of the short Youtube preview is unprofessional. It's like adding a review for a film even if the reviewer admitted they only saw the trailer.

Freeman420 gave it a0:
This show is so horrible! The Daily Show criticizes both the LEFT AND RIGHT. This show just attacks anything left leaning with no humor whatsoever! The 1/2 Hour News Hour uses a laugh track(obviously), while The Daily Show uses their live audience who actually laugh because Jon Stewart is hilarious!

Joe U gave it a1:
While this show is not a bad idea, the way it came out is downrighr putrd. This show is simply not funny. I enjoy good humor about anyone, but the jokes are horrible, and when theyre delivered its completely forced. Any 10 on here proves the long-known belief that conservatives have no sense of humor. Or that no matter how positively bad someone or something is, if it is presented by some right-wing blowhard, THEN IT'S AWESOME! All politicians suck and so do the people who worship them!

Joe H gave it a0:
that sucked

May B gave it a2:
I give it a 2 for the 2 funny jokes, but that's because I feel bad for them. I hope those anchors will be able to find another job...doing something else.

Joe M gave it a1:
Full Disclosure: I voted for Bush in the last election. I'd vote for him again. I think he is Mt. Rushmore good. History will prove this. Furthermore, I do watch FOX, which is why I ran into this piece of poop. Their politics might be in the right place, but, holy cow, the comedy is awful. There are dozens of excellent conservative comedians out there. I doubt that any of the people involved in this show would know comedy if it walked up and bit them on the keister. What I'm saying is, P.J. O'Rourke this is not. If this is the best we can come up with for comedy we're going to lose the culture wars in the long run.

Andrew G gave it a0:
This is abysmal. I truly was hoping for a worthy competitor to the Daily Show, but for all the conservatives pretending that the Daily Show's liberal, John Stewart et al. skewers Obama with greater skill and humor in one line than this show did with an entire sequence. It's not that it's conservative. It's just that it's weak.

burt t gave it a0:
Anyone who thought this was funny is so filled with right-wing hysteria and hatred they can no longer evaluate anything without seeing it through that prism. The payoff to the "best" segment was a B.O. joke? Would anyone under 6 think that was funny? Or under 6? Did the last election really mentally break you people this badly? And to Greg S - I love it when someone yells "you're stupid!" and misspells every other word while doing it. This show's perfect for you.

For a Pilot episode that couldn't be topical due to lag time, they really pulled off something quite funny. Too bad the critics didn't give it a chance. However, with 1.5m viewers, it beats the Colbert Report and is barely behind Jon Stewart.

O or 10 depending on your politcal affiliation? Not likely. I've been looking at the reviews all over the web and guess what? The 10's are EXACTLY the same comments on other sites. If your going to try to hype your show don't be so obvious.

Mike M gave it a4:
The only reason people are giving this show a 10 is for their political stance on the issues...not because of the quality of the humor. The reason why it's so mediocre is because the outlandish characterizations of the left are actually said on real news shows by talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. It's just awkward to think the people who write this show think they are writing comedy, when they are really writing a mockumentary of the rediculousness that is Fox News.

Peter J gave it a0:
These kind of shows work by taking news of the moment and playing with them. This show takes liberal personalities and piles on with no reference to a current event. This makes it more of a hatchet show than a News type show. That being said, hatchet shows CAN be funny. This one is not. Even the republican press is groaning at the canned laughter, the stilted delivery and the peurile jokes. In fact, the only people who seem to like it are the ones giving it 10s on this board. Lose the canned laughter, make it more topical and look like your having a bit of fun and maybe, just maybe, this show could be salvaged

doug gave it an8:
Ahh, such a great illustration of the difference between libs and conservatives. The libs pan the lone conservative comedy show out-of-hand because it dared insult their religion. But conservatives can easily watch Stewart/Cobert/Letterman/Mahr .etc without getting their panties in a bunch. As for my 7 rating, some of the jokes fell flat, but most were dead on target.

Rob J gave it a0:
Truly awful. Not humor, not satire, not even mean; just a half hour of right wing self-pity. This show is the conservative equivalent of a two year old screaming for hours on end that his mommy isn't fair.

Aldous T gave it a2:
Okay, I watched the whole thing, which was hard to do, but I wanted to be fair and give it a full chance. I am giving it a 2 (as opposed to a 0), because I did smile ONCE. With better writers, this show MIGHT stand a chance, but as of this pilot, it looks pretty grim.

R. Michael M gave it a10:
I'm not used to freely laughing at these types of shows. I'm usually waiting for some jab at Bush or the GOP. Not anymore. Free at last!

Chief Baseje gave it a0:
"Barrack Obama = B.O". "Oh! lets laugh at that guy for driving hybrid cars.". the subject matter on this show is so petty, its dumbfounding. it would be nice to see this show take on the more important issues facing this country. alas, instead of getting jokes concerning the circus that is the new congress, corruption in government (on both sides) and the general toothlessness of the left in opposing the war (non-binding resolutions!), Fox News serves up "jokes" about an imaginery cabinet of lesbians. stirring stuff. "the daily show" is funny because even with its leftist bias, nobody is safe from ridicule, liberal, independent or republican. Fox News is incapable of seeing wrong in the left (recall their designation of "democrat" status to Mark Foley. thats the level of their delusion). for this reason, comedy from the right is best served by finding a medium other than Fox "News". conservative comedy is by no means an outlandish propositon and i have often wondered why it hasnt taken root yet. however, this is a horrible attempt that might well put other, more competent hands off from attempting right-biased comedy.

gunnertilldeath gave it a1:
the only reason i can imagine for anyone actually liking this crap is a perverse need to see Fox "News" humiliate themselves every sunday (i happen to think they manage that feat seven days a week). their "journalism" is shameful, wilfully misleading, petty and insulting to the intelligent viewer. alas, their comedy is worse.

Jim S gave it a0:
Wrong on so many levels.

I have only sean about 8 minutes of the show but what I saw and read I am very sad I missed it. Rush was a hoot as was the ACLU commercials. I loved the BO magazine and pay to call Hltlery (that is not a miss spelling). Overall very very funny!

Steve M gave it a2:
Sophmoric, ancient jokes given a "new" spin. If it was remotely funny, why the canned laugh track? Seriously. Don't get too fond of this show, it'll last maybe two weeks before Fox puts a bullet in its head.

James A gave it a3:
The show really didn't poke fun at the news, but seemed to be a hitjob for the US Democratic Party. In contrast, what I like about Stewart and Colbert is that they poke fun at both political parties, and use actual news events to bolster thier jokes (thus the Emmys). Granted, some of the jokes were funny, but there is a reason why the show has only been slated to three episodes.

K MY gave it a0:
Low-life swipes at progressives and at the majority of American opinion. Laugh tracks are pathetic.

Arne F gave it a0:
A program that needs a laugh track to tell everybody when it's supposed to be funny. Well, it's certainly not funny, let alone accurate. Pure dribble.

Ok, where's the negative number option? -10 would be more accurate. Lame. Lame. Lame.

Incognita Bullfinch gave it a1:
So lame. The jokes are tired. The set and graphics are stolen from the Daily Show. The laugh track proves that the creators didn't have the confidence to present this "work" in front of a live audience. What an awful, awful show.

There is nothing funny about this show. Even the laugh track isn't groan, grimace or grunt worthy. Truly terrible jokes delivered in an inane, tacky manner by people who must have an iron stake shoved up their ass. Pull the plug - the point has been made - there is nothing funny about "conservatives." . Been a long time since something this bad was on TV - this is a new, record setting low - even for Fox.

James R gave it a0:
Republicans aren't funny.

T Guinn gave it a0:
This show is just really really bad.

Loren M gave it a0:
Not nearly as funny as FNC's "fair and balanced" tagline. Now THAT is comedy.

Dan S. gave it a0:
Look, it's not that it's conservative. The Daily Show uses wit and irony to blast its targets. The 1/2 Hr. News Hr. uses the snide bullying of an 8th grader. The difference is huge.

Maria L gave it a0:
the humor was mean spirited and juvenile at best . Not at all impressed and I love political humor.

dare-a s gave it a2:
(2) for concept, (0) for execution, neither news nor entertainment

Alyce N gave it a2:
I chuckled once or twice. I like to watch funny people making fun of liberal shibboleths. These are not funny people.

Melody C gave it a0:
Heroically, historically bad. The Plan 9 from Outer Space of TV comedy.

Jay W gave it a0:
between the obvious canned laughter and the overly kinetic "news anchors", this was a piss poor take-off on the very good Daily Show with John Stewart. Do Conservatives just not have a funny bone because this was a real disappointment.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
ugh.

Drunken Master gave it a0:
How funny is the "half hour news hour"? Well, if you find the realization that Barack Obama's initials = BO hilarious, this is right up your alley. Otherwise (ie, if you have an IQ higher than that of a Basset Hound), stikck with The Daily Show. Raving rightwing reactionaries just aren't funny.

Mark D gave it a0:
Wow ... just ... wow. This show is historically bad, not because it's partisan, but because it just isn't funny. There is a fine line between satire and hateful insults, and this show is on the wrong side. But that's what happens when you start a show not to be funny, but to further an ideological agenda. The fact that this is on what is supposed to be a NEWS network doesn't help, either.

Chef Clark gave it a0:
To effectively review this show, you need to observe it with a politically-neutral viewpoint. To review this show on comedic merit, it is absolutely horrible. Its structure of set-up, punchline, set-up, punchline, combined with its poor sketch acting and a LAUGH TRACK creates a dismal production that should never have even made it to a pilot episode.

Damien gave it a0:
Bathroom humor just isn't funny. Nice how they added a canned laugh track to it. Awful, just awful.

doug h gave it a10:
Aww, the poor liberals don't like satire about the truth. They have the daly show, kind of. How about decent review without politics.

Stewart L gave it a0:
I would have given it a 1 had they had Bush doing fart jokes.

Daniel A gave it a0:
They should probably try to spend more time on being funny and less on trying to be "right wing." I have never seen material is forced and, well, stupid. And this is coming from a regestered Independent. One of the least funny television shows I have ever seen.

Ross A gave it a1:
A satire doesn't work if you parody a different world altogether (whatever planet Fox lives on, because its not mine rofl). However, that complete lack of cohesion made this show unintentionally funny, so I give it a 1 for mockery purposes. Fox's ultimate paradox is that it has a parody news show on the worst news station on television. Before it gets to make fun of "good" news stations, it might want to consider getting its own. This show will be canceled in 6 episodes, tops.

John M gave it a0:
Painfully unfunny. The use of a laugh track is pathetic at best. What is a comdey show doing on a news network. It should be on FX channel or some other fox channel.

Andrew S gave it a0:
No where near as funny as the regular programming on fox news.

J C gave it a0:
When I was a kid we did fake news shows that even embarassed us then. This show is worse. The critical scorn has nothing to do with its politics, it is just the very worst program possible with no rival in decades. In one case, a line that could have been very funny was delivered as if the person saying it had no idea what the actual humor was. It took me a while to notice that "hey, that was actually funny". One of the problems with this show is that it has to make up stuff about the people it is supposedly making fun of, such as Cindy Sheehan (a completely non-violent person) going on a shooting spree. It doesn't have a clue about reality and therefore has to make up lies to ATTEMPT to be funny. It also tends to be nasty. Contrast that with other shows that are genuinely funny that take reality and real clips and let the absurdity of ALL of us stand out on its own. The "real" world is silly enough and doesn't need help. That the writers have to resort to falsities may be a pretty good example of how people of this persuasion seem to be way out of touch with reality. This could be a window into the distorted, paranoid, and fearful mind of many cons.

Abdullah America gave it a1:
This show sucks. It is an oxymoron in every sense of the word--there's no such thing as conservative comedy! Comedy, by definition, has always been liberal. They look ignorant and racist more than anything else. True conservatives.

andrew O gave it a0:
so bad... i mean i would watch, IF IT WERE AT ALL FUNNY

Abe I gave it a10:
It was a riot. I would like to see it every night.

Emma M gave it a1:
Unbelievably horrible!!! This show is painfully unfunny.

Alma C gave it a10:
Enjoyed it a lot

Edwin C gave it a10:
This was a very funny show. Weedend update has been lame for two years now and this is very refreshing. I hope this has a looooooooong run on fox news.

Po Dawg gave it a0:
Awful

eclipsgtboy gave it a10:
I love it. Finally a show that gives back a little something to the lefties. Of course they don't find it funny! It touches their golden man, Barack Obama. There is SOOOOO much material out there. Go for it!

Jeff K gave it a1:
The only thing I really found funny was how poorly the laugh track was applied.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
this is teh suck

Jeff M gave it a1:
The premise is stupid, the jokes dumb and juvenile, and the performance are so dull, it looks like even the actors hate doing it. Comedy only works if everything is up for grabs, narrowing down to make fun of a select group of people to pander to a "base" is why this will inevitably fail.

David P gave it a0:
Chewing on tinfoil and repeatedly whacking my big toe with a sledgehammer would be more fun than watching this again. Good Lord, was this show horrible.

John B gave it a10:
At last the answer to those smug arrogant fools on Weekend Update. And this is actually funny!

Hugh Jass gave it a7:
This is a little funnier than the critics say. Not extremely funny, but still funny.

Jake L gave it a0:
The worst thing you can imagine -- on a bad day.

[Anonymous] gave it a9:
Thought it was pretty funny. Some parts weren't, but not all of SNL is funny either.

Klarth L gave it a0:
Awful... so awful.

Noneof Yourbusiness gave it a10:
Absolutely brilliant. One of the best shows on TV can't wait until it goes beyond promos and gets better production values.

Michael T gave it a10:
Watched it three times, showed to alot of friends......... I haven't laughed so hard since Sienfeld

john f gave it a10:
funny, very funny

Brian B gave it a0:
Good lord... if you want to copy Stewart and Colbert, please do it well. Without laugh tracks.

Cory K gave it a1:
Attempt at balancing out liberal-biased satire? Maybe. Funny? No, not at all.

Brent H gave it a9:
It's no wonder the "mainstream media" newspaper quotes trash "The 1/2 Hour News Hour" and hurriedly predict the show's demise after one episode. It's about time fair balance included poking fun at liberal sacred cows. Kudos to FOX and Joel Surnow. Keep the laughs coming!

Myra T gave it a0:
Stale, predictable, about as subtle as a sledgehammer, with nasty intolerant undertones. In other words typical right wing "humor."

Jordan M gave it a10:
Well, it must be the best show ever made, cause a lot of liberal drones hate it!

R. Skelly gave it a2:
this is an awkward, desperate and ultumately woeful attempt at political parody.

Michael C gave it a0:
Horrific. Brain-dead monkeys on meth couldn't write worse material. I suppose it makes sense - how can you comment wittily on reality when you're living in the reality-free echo-chamber of Limbaugh and O'Reilly?

kevin c gave it a0:
Nice use of the laugh track over and over again. This shows they couldn't get a live audience to laugh at anything.

Matthew M gave it a0:
Satire requires deflating power - hard to do when you are part of that power. Pretty dull stuff.

Greg S gave it a10:
If John Stuart is a 10, then this is at least as good. Pay attention to the Liberal critics rating of this show. All the more proof that the Left is too stupid to ever be trusted with any judgement.

liz h gave it a10:
I loved it. At first it was a bit shocking to hear jokes about the left, it's so unusual I felt a little naughty listening to it and enjoying it. It's about time there was another voice on TV. Keep up the good work.

Steve G gave it a10:
I loved it. It is about time.... It will be a must see for the people sick and tired of the left bashing the right.

Job B gave it a0:
Potental to be funny falls flat.

Jud S. gave it a0:
Hahaha. Yet another indication this "news" network is just trying to find shows that get ratings, despite the lack of journalism. Fox is just a horrible, terrible, awful channel.

doug m gave it a7:
Nice ironic Twist to the typical garbage called political humor. Canned laugh has got to go though, let the satire speak for itself

Brian M gave it a1:
Am I missing something here? After the show finished, I thought isn't comedy at it's best when practiced by the anti-establishment. It's just not funny when the Bush administration does one liners and zingers about the ACLU.

Ron R gave it a10:
Superior humor!

J Posa gave it a10:
Great show. The liberals are all crying foul on this one. The truth hurts, doesn't it. Fox is laughing all the way to the bank. HA,HA,HA!!!

Bob Y gave it a10:
I expected poor comments from the pathetic left. It's about time some conservative humor poked at them.

GINA R gave it a10:
This show is great and alot of us conservatives would like to see this come about, it just shows that the left has no sense of humor and I think this is great comedy!

Kris K gave it a2:
relegated to the hellish hours of 3AM and plugged between other boners like Girls Gone Wild and Enzyte, it might do wonderfully. Some of us get punchy enough to laugh at anything, even this, at 3 AM.

Carla W gave it a10:
Great Fun! Illustrates the absurd by being absurd.

Jennifer D gave it a10:
Excellent! Finaly TRUTH in journalism!!!

Bill W gave it an8:
Finally, a show that exposes the truth about liberals and liberalism in very funny way. Illustrating liberal absurdity through satiric humor.

pat a gave it a0:
i can't believe this show was actually approved. i felt like i was watching a public access teen news program from a year ago. the jokes were totally outdated and the whole feel was cheap. those two actors/anchors should be ahshamed of themselves for taking this job. i'm sure they will be.

jon r gave it a0:
It was terrible and unfunny. Larry the cable guy was more insightful!!!

David gave it a7:
Enjoyed the gags, especially the ACLU bits. It's a fun change of pace from the standard comedy news that i'm used to seeing on SNL or the Daily Show. Refreshing.

E Z gave it a0:
Small focus, silliness, and poor delivery plague this show. It's so bad the hosts even try to explain their jokes sometimes (which makes them even worse).

Ciara T gave it a10:
I thought the show was hilarious and I hope to see it become a regular series. Take that liberals hypocrite's!

Sean gave it a2:
Pathetic attempt! I was going to give it a chance being a moderate voter ... a daily show rip off that doesn't even give the daily show any street cred.

al h gave it a6:
What's funny is watching all the KommieLib media critics pan this show. It's as automatic and reflexive as their love or hate of any other issue/politician/celebrity. Liberal/Democrat/AnybodyButFox - good ....... Conservative/Republican/Fox baaaaad. The show's not great, but it will (probably get better). If not, it deserves to go. We don't want it stinking up the place. Big Al

Hank C gave it a0:
terrible and offensive

David H gave it a1:
Be you liberal or conservative, I think we can all put aside our partisan differences and agree that this show is awful

Paul M gave it a0:
Middle schoolers could write better parody.

[Anonymous] gave it a0:
Sick.

Neal W gave it a10:
Great show....silly and fun.

Chelsea gave it a0:
Actually worse than expected. Political bias aside, this was just plain horrible.

j r gave it a9:
Odd intro, but very funny obama segment and t-shirt parody. Ill watch it again.

Mike H gave it a10:
OK Libs...it's all fun and games until the joke's on you. I'll laugh really hard the first time this gets better ratings than your liberal counterpart...and it will happen. I thought it was hilarious! - A God Fearing, All American Conservative

Tracy H gave it a9:
I find it hard to believe all of your critics have negative comments. Can you say "liberal bias?"

John Stewart gave it a0:
very, very, very poorly done

David O gave it a10:
It is about time that the "right" has its own program. The fact that all the liberal reviewers came in against the show is a strong prediction of potential success! As usual, they (liberals) can dish it out, but they can't take it!!! Keep going 1/2 Hour News Hour!!

Ruffy R gave it a10:
I loved it!

Ian S gave it a0:
So painful to watch, its comparable to an awful high school production

Chris A gave it a1:
This just sucks.

Dave gave it a0:
Fox is doing fake news? This is news??

Jason S gave it a0:
Completely fails to be either original or funny.

Daniel M gave it a0:
oh-my-god that this show is discraceful

Kurt A gave it a0:
The only thing that is missing is real laughs from a live audience... check that TV audience.

Lenny T gave it a0:
So bad it makes you feel sorry for FNC. Trite.

Sara gave it a0:
The president skit looked more like a parody of conservative thought processes. "Well, after two years of a democratic congress, the economy is in ruins and we're internationally hated, but luckily, the conservatives are back in charge." Unlike, you know, how things are after six years of a Republican one. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea?

Kevin K gave it a0:
This show sucks!

Tim M. gave it a6:
No, it's not great. But why in the world would TV critics - the most liberal group of writers in the industry - like right wing humor?? The fact that TV critics would fawn over The Daily Show and hate guys like P.J. O'Rourke is predictable. I was amused by the Coulter stuff, but the moment you put her on TV, the left jumps out of its skin. Bottom Line: Reviewing right wing fare is Mission: Impossible for the Critical left.
