Hello people!!! This show sucks!!! Ever see Northern Exposure! Can you can 'really bad copy' of a good idea!! The dialogue is so uninspired, so unoriginal, so taken straight from boring and predictable. This is insipid capitalistic opportunism at its height. I love the narration! Anne Heche's narration is such a poor attempt at sounding smart! Northern Exposure was smart and it worked! Hey writers! If you're not smart, then don't pretend to it! Or if you're just trying to appeal to the plebes then may you rot in hell!

I really enjoyed this show and looked forward to watching it! I hope it will continue as a series next fall. When will we know if it is coming back? Last season I was a huge 'Invasion' fan and I feel that it was just left hanging with no real conclusion. I was very disappointed. I hope that I will not be disappointed again.

I love this show, I would run home eveynight from college just to see what was going on, How can you cancel a show that was so good and leave us hanging. I do not have cable but I do get men in trees and I would look foward to coming home and seeing some old fashion, but juicy. I am reallt upset. This next show is not gong to do as good as men in trees. Hey if your not going to air it anymore you need to send me old show on dvd for free, at least I can still enjoy those. I realize that I too have fallen in love with Elmo, it's breathtaking landscape and it's down-to-earth warm-hearted support cast. That said, I haven't been able to watch one show without straining to reach through the rose-tinted screen and strangle that nasally, self-absorbed ding dong (Heche) mid pontification on the bloody obvious. Please let her be consumed by a dumpster bear.

I love this show. I havent missed an episode since it started on 09/12/06. I am curious to know when the next season begins. What happens next with merin and jack?? rarely is there a show where all the characters generate curiousity in viewers. this is my favorite show next to greys anatomy, house and the closer. i dont know what critics say about this show but in my opinion Men in trees is great!!!! keep up the good work!!!!

I love this show! So what if it isn't how Alaska really is - this is tv. Tv rarely projects anything true to the actual thing (hello, CSI anyone?). I enjoy the way the characters are slowly developing, the quirky stories and the fact that you get to see relationships without blatant sex in your face on the screen all the time. I hope they keep it on for several seasons!

Don't even think about messing with this Men In Tree's. This is one of the most enjoyable shows on during the week. I'm not sure moving it to Friday night is a good move. I will be very upsetting if this show moves time slots and loses it's followers. It is a great follow up to Grey's Anatomy and it gives me something to look forward to on Thursday nights. I have introduced this show and Grey's Anatomy to many friends and they too are hooked.

It doesn't get any better that this. I am hopeful that Men In Trees will last a very long time. It is clean and wholesome. Family friendly. Kudos to the writers. Please don't take this show to far. This is a fresh quirky show. The scenery is fabulous and the characters grow in depth during each show. It is just like meeting people as you get to know them you learn more and more about what defines them as a person.

Could Ane Heche be any more annoying playing the same twitchy anxious self absorbed twit over and over and over again in everything she has ever been in? This was painful to watch except for the good work of Suleka Mathew and John Amos. Maybe yhey could have the Marin character fall though the ice or something and save the show.

I would also agree there is a hint of Sex in the City within the show. However, the air is so much cleaner-details about the sex. It's everyday life that most everyone can relate to. Whereas, with Sex in the City it relates to only one genre; Men in Trees relates to us all that is willing to breathe in the air...

To write this show off as "Sex and the City" / "Northern Exposure" hybrid is a mistake born of ignorance and a big clue that the critic has not stuck with the show. With each show, we're treated to deeper character development, richer plots and worthy entertainment. Yes, "Men in Trees" is laugh-worthy, but I also find myself gripped by the crackling, yet hesitant, chemistry between Marin and Jack, the agonizing Ben/Theresa relationship limbo and exhilerating newness of the Patrick/Annie coupling. This show isn't just another serving of fast-food tv. It has rich potential and I am SO EXCITED it's now going to be on after another favorite, Grey's Anatomy!!! If a b.s. show like "According to Jim" can last multiple seasons, "Men in Trees" should enjoy a long run akin to "Sex and the City" and "Friends".

The pilot and first episode was run back to back and I am glad it was. The pilot did not make me want to watch any more due to the whole cheating think with Marin. But I stuck in there and watched the first episode and I love this show. I have watched every episode that has been on and can't wait to see this weeks. I just love it.

My wife and I both like this show, and thats unusual. Critics seem to hate it and emphasize that "no one but lonley hearts watch tv on Friday nights". I'll tell you who watches tv on Friday nights, grownups. Keep the reality and cop shows on the school nights and program the weekends for the parents.

I enjoy the show.!! I find that generally if the critics don't like a show, I do. It's a Friday night break from all the news talk show that just breed anger to the "reality" shows that are just plain ridiculous. If people can get enjoyment out of watching vicious underhanded behavior they should be able to accept, maybe not a belly laugh show; but one that does make you smile all the way through. We need some gentleness in todays society.

Anne Heche does a great job with her role as do all the other actors. I watch all the CSI's, Numbers, NCIS, The Unit etc. This is a nice break, a change from everyone else trying to rewrite the same show with differnt actors on different nights. I do agree this has a little "Sex in the city" more "Northern Exposure" but it has been done very well. I just hope it makes it.

I've watched the first several episodes and so far I love it--many scenes made me laugh out loud. The look on Anne Heche's face before she fell thru the ice in one scene was priceless. It's always good to try and watch a new show--are we going to watch Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, etc. forever?? In addition, there is usually nothing to watch on a Fri. night--we are boring parents of 2 young children--so this show is perfect for me.

This is definitely a "Sex & the City"/"Northern Exposure" remake, but it's a pretty fun show. I care about Anne Heche's character and I want to see what's going to happen to her even though there's the predictable love/hate relationship with the "cute" guy. I just wish it wasn't on Friday night.

A lot of these negative reviewers just seem to detest Anne Heche, for whatever reason. But she's always been a bright talent, and I think the "Sex and the Country" wit of this show could make it fun and endearing.

Yes, it borrows from the best and the shows influences are transparent, but the casting is well done and given time this is a show whose pace and sensibility there isn't enough of on the tube.

I really enjoyed the pilot of "Men In Trees". This show is fresh, sweet and quirky, along with its characters. To tell you the truth, I am SICK of reality shows! I find them insulting to my intelligence. The autumn season always feels like a time for snuggly, wood-burning things. Elmo, Alaska things. Not tapdancing with former child stars. I will be interested to see how this show progresses considering the huge success of "Sex in the City." Okay, the "city" part has been removed, and the similarities to "Northen Exposure" are obvious. But I thoroughly enjoyed my short visit to Elmo!

I agree with a previous review that it is nice to see something on TV that isn't a CSI-NCIS-lawyer drama. Granted it is a bit cliche but enjoyable nevertheles. I've checked out the first two shows, and each time I couldn't get past the first main commercial break without turning it off or switching channels. Seems I'm reminded a lot of Northern Exposure, in a been-there-done-that sort of way. The Ann Heche character still couldn't get herself a pair of boots by the second episode? This show sinks in its own mud of bad acting and sophomoric writing, despite the nice (yawn) scenery and cute raccoon that got old real fast.

For those of you who look at Anne Heche as a comedian please stop. She is a good actress and very sexy. So she is the show and the writing is not great but maybe it will get better. WIth the slim choices of good TV today I was surprisingly humored by Hiche. I will be watching the show again. I found myself telling others about some of the scenes in the pilot.

It's not the most original show in the world, but after seeing Heche's stint on Everwood, I knew she'd be worth watching in this rustic setting. The supporting characters will make this show, though. The "hostess", the bartender's ex-wife, the agent. They seem interesting. But also the men of that small town seem like they will be a good foil for the big city relationship coach. I'll give it another episode or two worth of rope.

I was instantly drawn to the characters on this show. The acting was superb and the the views of Alaska are amazing. For those of us who do not enjoy cop shows and legal dramas, Men in Trees is a refreshing change. Let's hope ABC gives it a chance to find an audience before yanking it.
