charlene v gave it a3:
Katie and her voice just does not hold up on this show. I can never tell when she is sincere or not. I do not watch anymore. Everytime I try the show I end up turning the channel to Brian Williams

Ted Ted gave it a0:
She simply is the reason I switched from CBS News after being loyal to them.....I would recommend a role on "I pity the fool"

John L gave it a7:
I love Katie but she needs to be bring more to this. Something different. More energy. Top news only. Something for everybody in 30 minutes.

Marie B gave it a10:
I love Katie Courics delivery of the news,The way she looks you right in the eye.She is beautiful,Composed and keeps your attention.CBS your doing great keep it up...

gene o gave it a2:
Katie needs to realize the evenig news business is about creditbility in the news reported, not about coming with some fun base from the morning alternative enteainment show. Way to go.

Fatima M. gave it a1:
I love that Katie was talking about how we don't need the news to be like Entertainment Tonight, and then her first story was on Suri Cruise. Do what you want Katie, but don't you dare call it news.

Julie W gave it a9:
I like watching the new format...there is more indepth exploration of a subject rather than just reading the news and I will continue to watch.

Mike N gave it a2:
Terrible. Infotainment continues its advance while truly informative hard news continues its sharp decline. No wonder Americans have such trouble understanding the complexities of national and international affairs. They're too busy gushing over Tom and Katie's baby photos.

tom p gave it a6:
Needs lots of time, work and room. Rush Limbaugh does not belong on a news program unless he is being arrested. freeSpeech so far is so sad. Makes repression look refreshing.

Latisha C gave it a2:
Not too impressed. Would have liked to see a better spin on things.

Maurice F gave it an8:
After months of media attention on her, Katie Couric deftly put the focus on headlines and colleagues in her Tuesday premiere as anchor of the CBS Evening News. i think that She offered a real mix that suggested the CBS Evening News will be a fascinating place to visit. Couric interviewed New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman about the state of the war on terror.

Cleo H gave it a10:
I find Katie Couric much more personable and easier to feel at ease with than any male anchor I'd watched. I especially enjoy the tone of warmth with which she conveys the news to the audience.

Jimmy D gave it a2:
Too many gimmicks and too little news.

thomas f gave it a4:
too few stories, lot of gimmicks, very casual ("Hi everybody!", "the folks at Chevron", "this story will get the socks off your feet"...), correspondents are too much on display in the reports: Lara Logan embedded with the Talibans, Anthony Mason drilling oil, David Martin touring an undisclosed antiterrorism center. Free speech looks like a PBS feature and it's news on the cheap: you seat somebody on a chair and you tape. Schieffer was more interactive with the correspondents. So now for me it's back to Gibson and Williams.

Jim H gave it a1:
This was on of the worst news broadcasts Ive ever seen After one commercial Katie says"that was Peter Gabriel playing Red Rain".Who gives a rat's ass! Then at the end she says there was talk of how she should end the show. Just end it! Big egos all around here .

Pamela M gave it a3:
I really want news about the day on my evening news, not another entertainment show. I don't want comnentary or interviews or pictures of celebrity babies. I do want to know what is happening with regard to Lebanon and Israel, what actually took place today in Afghanistan and Iraq, what is going on in DC... I don't want a newsy show, I want the news. Unless tonight packs a bigger punch (and less fluff) I will be switching channels to the other news shows for the first time in years.

Sarah P gave it an8:
Yes, she was nervous. Let's give Katie a chance to get comfortable. It's rather like reviewing a restaurant on its opening night.

Brian T gave it a5:
While I admire Couric for being the first female network news anchor, I thought she was a bit stiff and the reporting ranged from conventional to overly fluffy. Admittedly it was a slow news day but after showing baby photos and giving air time to op/ed, it didn't seem like there was much time left for relevant material.
