I always loved this show and would of given it a 10, however this evening bringing out the snakes in the case, was in very poor taste! In doing that to someone you are lucky that case didn't get spilled onto the stage!!!

This has got to be one of the phoniest Game Shows ever concocted by some half-witted producer.I mean think about it People----Haven't you ever noticed how in the waning minutes of a contestant's time, the remaining case amounts are ALWAYS 2 or 3 extremely low amounts (i.e.$1,$5,$10 or maybe $25) and 2 or 3 very large figures like $100,000 ,$300,000 $500,000 or even the million. What are the odds of that happening EVERYTIME? I mean just by the random odds of probability it looks like that at least every once in a while, the REMAINING amounts would be either ALL below $500---.or to the other extreme--- ALL above say $50,000. You know what I mean,Vern? Also you can tell that some of the Contestants have been "coached" before the show into acting or should I say over-reacting, with Howie. But then again making a complete a## of oneself makes for some great Ratings and NBC knows this all to well.

This is got to be, without question, one of the lamest,phoniest game shows ever conceived by some half-witted NBC producer. I mean, People haven't you ever noticed how in the waning moments of every Contestant's time in the spotlight,his/her choices ALWAYS comes down to choosing between either 2 or 3 extremely low amounts (i.e.$5,$10,$25) and 2 or 3 fairly high amounts (i.e. $50,000,$100,00,500,000) I mean- think about it-what are the odds of the choices coming down to extremely low amount choices vs.very high amount choices in the last 10 or 12 minutes of EVERY game? Looks like at least, every now and then just by the random odds of the game, it would come down to choosing between either all high numbers at the end OR all low numbers.-- .Know what I mean,Vern? I'm telling ya this show is as phoney as a $3.00 Dollar Bill, and the Contestants trying to out do each other by acting a fool --but then again NBC wouldn"t have put them on the show if they weren't willing to make an a** out of themselves--it makes for good viewer ratings.

Hit NBC show? Maybe for NBC. Recylced ideas from the early 00s that faded out after a year. Can't they at least wait ten years like that Friends ripoff "How I Met You Mom?"

The only draw back to me is when some of these individuals, act out of character, screaming, yelling, acting crazy, going over board, it turns me off, example, one woman who kept slapping Howie back side, I did not find it was approriate, if a man did this to this female, boy, it would have being another story. If they want to really do a better show and insist on the bimbos they should at least make it fare to both sexes and display MALE bimbos holding the suitcases as well. I've been wathing this show for a while and I still think it is great. Maybe those who think other wise better get more of an excitable life. What's wrong with a non intelligent show? Moronic nonsense.In England the show is presented by Noel Edmonds,a pint sized gnome,who believes in 'cosmic energy',terrible jokes and jumpers.I have tried not to hate him,I really have. The show becomes particularly annoying when the contestants are 1.Inbred fools 2.have devout faith in a 'system' relying on 'gut feeling', 'fate' and 'faith'. 3.seize their moment in the public spotlight with cringeworthy over zealous exuberance.

This show seemed like a good idea at first, and it was. i watched it every day it came on for a while, when it only came on once a week. Then it started coming on two and then three times a week. Now the whole concept is boring. When season two comes around, if it is only once a week, I will watch it, but if not, their audience will start droopping greatly, I believe.

Deal or No deal just could be one of the longest running game shows in the history of television. Finally, a game show that sparks total mesmorization. The risk-reward scenerios of this game mimic the 9-to-5 grind of the everyday work world. Howie Mendel is the perfect host for this excellent show. His quirky bald head, and inability (or phobia) to shake contestant's hands adds to the wackiness of this original, yet simple game concept. Each contestant has their own story to tell, as they introduce us to loved ones, and thoughts & desires if they just win "the big one." I am sorry, but I am changing my rating to a 9.9. PS: The models ain't 1/2 bad either, especially #3! You can't lose with this one. Conshy, PA USA

Critics and users have said that Deal or No Deal is uneducated and just randomly pick numbers and because of that people gave this show bad marks. America do not care, they just want the contestants to win BIG ($646,000) and the show's rating is always consistent in contrast to 'Millionaire'--people doesn't get the big bucks only ($32,000 or even $1000 or at worst $0)--Americans hate that and Millionaire (Regis) went down the drain. Overall: The Good--the beautiful ladies, and the host Howie Mandel is excellent The Bad--i felt that the contestant are staged somehow and sometimes way over the top

I give the show a 10. I’ve read the critics that feel the show is too simplistic and how it’s not challenging enough. While the shows premise may be simplistic there in lies the beauty of it. It’s like watching a good old movie where you don’t have to ponder the heavy social commentary of the movie, you just get to sit back and enjoy it. It’s a great escapism activity. We all like to dream a little about how we would handle the same situation. I bet these critics of the game would enjoy playing if given half the chance.

I was a big fan of this show but the longer it goes the longer it takes to open the boxes cases. Monday night (4/3/06) the contestant had opened some boxes in the previous show and it took 80 minutes to finish with the contestant. If the show is not speeded up I will quit watching. Roy

I am not a TV person, but I can admit, this show took my attention, and I find myself glued on the couch with a lot of excitement to see what some one will take home. There is no stupid challenges, no eating awful intrails from strange animals, nor answering questions or solving puzzles. Just simply Deal or no Deal; and I like that.

I LOVE this show!!! I've never been so hooked on a television show after only seeing 2 episodes (so granted... its possible it could get old... although that would be more to how they drag the game out... I wish it were faster paced and would have knocked my rating down to 9 for that reason, but I pushed it back up a point because the case girls are hot) Now I like this show so much I've actually gotten kinda of mad reading all of the negative views attacking it as being dumb and all luck based with people complaining it shows just how dumb people have become. Well I think all these attacks are proving how dumb people are because they DON'T like it. I absolutely love mathematical games and game theory and this show is jsut such a wonderful example of decision making theory... it is not just some lame game for 3 year olds. The amount of the deal offered by the banker is never the expected value of whats in the case (which would be the sum of all remaining cases divided by the number of cases) but is always less (well... ALMOST always). So if you were to play the game over and over again you should never take the deal, as in the long run you will lose out. Thats not the case, you only play once, so you need to weight the risk of losing the money from the deal against the chance at a huge payout. The way people act and the decision they make are VERY interesting in my opinion. I was jumping up and down yelling at the TV at the one contestant who was offered 167,000 when the expected value in his case was 166,900. He had better odds taking the deal AND there was ZERO risk. How could you not take that!? He didn't and got lucky... I almost wanted him to lose just to spite him for making such a bad decision! Also, look at how people act once the big dollar values are gone. Do they seem to throw caution in the wind the rest of the way and take risks (probably even passing on deals with much greater values than the expected value of their case... I wish NBC would make an offer like that) or do they just try to consolidate their losses and become more risk averse. Or look at how men and women seem to have different factors of risk aversion. This show can be so entertaining when viewed in this way.

Mildly entertaining for one brief watch in order to figure out the point of the show but overall, dull with ridiculous attempts at suspense. The editing is amatuerish, the lighting boring even with the motion fixtures, the set is just stupid and the banker hidden in shadows? Pretty good (then again I watched the French version "A prendre ou a laisser"), and it's a bummer it's only a few days long. If only it would stay. One gripe, the US version should implement the JOKER into play from the French version. The Joker is basically a jackpot based on the number of correct answers to an (okay, ridiculously easy) trivia question. Then they multiply that by 10,000 (or is that 10.000?) euros. Sometimes the jackpot gets tripled. That's something that excersises the brain. I watched the Australian version, which is hosted by the most untalented comedian of all time. Without a likeable host, the show is nothing more than an overhyped, overrated guessing game. I did the dishes during the commercials. The show desperately needs more speed. One contestant per hour doesn't cut it. Five rounds to eliminate 20 cases then up to five more 1-by-1 won't hold my attention very long. Definitely a show for the VCR so I can see the full hour in about 20 minutes. Go 6-5-4-3-2-2-2-1 or even 6-5-4-3-3-2-2, and cut out the circle of friends.

This show is a great show to watch if you like to make fun of things. The production is absolutely ridiculous. Many things such as crowd noise, or even Howie talking have been added after filming. The contestants and family along with the audience overact, obviously acting a role that has been given by the producers. Howie does ok. What makes me laugh every time is when, just before a commercial, he acts as though he is about to reveal a case......but instead says "right after this break" as though the suspense is going to kill us. The players and audience groan as though they too can not take it; another fake aspect of the show. The problem with the show isn't with Howie, but rather the fact that it lacks any type of staying power. It is not exciting for more than 20 minutes. I can't see it being successful for more than a week.

Like some others have said here, I want to like this show. I do like it! However, someone earlier had a point when he asked if all of the contestants are "wanna-be actors". I went to the show's website on NBC.com and looked at an application. OMG--Deal of No Deal wants SAINTS ONLY. They not only do the standard background check on you but you are also ask if you've EVER have ANY arrests in your ENTIRE LIFE. Deal of NO Deal also runs a CREDIT CHECK on you and ANYONE that you want to bring to the show! Evidently one has to be a girl scout/boy scout these days to win money on a game show.

This show is addictive. But the biggest problem is trying to explain the rules to people. I work in a bar and I put this on every night. Most people don"t understand why no one takes the cases when they hit a big number. Even if you explain that the cases that are opened are not available in the end. I think it's a refreshing idea. We need more game shows instead of reality tv. Those were the original reality shows and people just love to see other people win big. Plus Howie Mandel is terrific!.

This show reminds me of Millionaire when it first came out: Shouting advice at the screen, wondering how stupid/brave these people realy are, and to see someone walk away with $25000 when they could have won 5 times that much. I watched this show the second day it came on, and I quickly found out that you can miss a day or five. It lacks some density and is not very deep. Deal or no deal held my intrest for the hour I watched it but there is no reason to set my T-Vo to it. Howie is Okay at putting on the "suspence, but most of the eertainment comes form the exitided contestants that pump their arms and shout "No deal". The audiance and family is usually the ones telling the contestants what to do, and the contestant could be Donald Trump or Joe Smith and the chances of them winning are just the same. So if you need a good break from news or drama t.v., just kill some time with an occasional luagh. You know, kinda like a B-grade movie that you can do a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" type deal with yourself.

Howie says several different times "That's how you play the game" after someone luckily picks a low amount.
