Why is it that anyone has trouble understanding why anyone would not like the crude and the boorish. People have been brainwashed for so long by defining deviancy down in popular culture they are incapable of rational judgement about good taste. The most embarassing example of this is the statement that its for adults. If your were really an adult on a psychological and emotional level then your disgusted by the graphic, the salacious, the vulgar and the purient, not amused by it.

Lukas W. gave it a10:
Ah. Family Guy, perfection on TV. I never understood why it gets so much hate, but the only logical reason I could come up with is that people are still stuck in their juvenile Simpsons phase. Family Guy never cease to amaze me with its witty and random lines, the only true comedy show these days, putting shows like SImpsons, King of the Hill, Cheers and Seinfeld to shame. I eagerly await the coming episodes every day. I find it the show getting better and better for every season, I absolutely love every episode in the latest one.

Mad House gave it an8:
Its a pretty good Show, It makes me smile. I could watch the re-runs all day long lol. It does lose a couple points because Its not really that funny, its really all inside humor, Id laugh out load at it every once in a while but its very rare but the comedy is still very Rich. The Comedy is very Hit & Miss to the point that when I do laugh it kinda shocks me. This kind of comedy is really fitting with America's overall taste in humor. I do love how Outrageous, Stupid & Slightly unpredictable, & clever it is. The relationships with the Great Characters are really what make the show Spontaneous & worth the watch, not necessarily the jokes itself. This show is full of life, 8 stars.

[Anonymous] gave it a6:
Really funny, except that there's a big, fat, ugly problem: it's too liberal and it thinks it's clever. Why does it have to interrupt all the good parts to shamelessly mock the socially conservative viewers? People don't watch it to hear political statements, they watch it because it's funny! Geez, what a slap in the face! One minute you'll be laughing like crazy and then it would jump in with "ABORTION RULEZ!!" and ruin the whole thing. Also, it seems to try too hard to parody stuff, and I doubt anyone gives a poop about the musical segments. It's a nice show until it's interrupted by it's gimmicky moments.

Aron E gave it a3:
Absolute trite. I cannot possibly express my disdain for the incoherent drivel it has become any better than the more elaborate commentators have. The characters have lost every bit of depth and wit they used to have and so have the jokes. It's so obvious they're no longer even trying to be funny, it's like it's undergone a devolution into a parody of itself. I'm only giving it three points because I respect the show it used to be.

Leonard M gave it a0:
Ridiculous show with ridiculously talentless writers. I'm embarassed to work for a network that airs this garbage.

Scott C gave it a2:
Honesty...what's so funny about a man simply trying to pick up a dead frog with a shoebox for two whole minutes? And the running gag where they cut to a Conway Twitty song? It's filler that indicates the writers can't come up with 22 minutes of decent material. There are a few laugh-out-loud moments maybe once every 2 or 3 episodes, but this is the most overrated show of the past decade.

Eli j gave it a1:
In the first two seasons the jokes were so funny that i almost didn't know what was happening to the tv because my mind was so completely blown. this season and every season after are down right horrible. I mean absolutely horrible. I laugh, no i chuckle maybe twice every episode. As in the old episodes i would break out in hysterical laughter almost every joke. awful down right awful.

David L gave it a6:
First of all, the artwork and its animation is awful - reducing cost and time for the showmakers and exploiting the inattention to detai that so many viewers have. So many straight lines and simple colours; if you watch carefully it's easy to notice how many of the nonfocal points on the screen remain motionless. One of the reasons Simpsons was so good was its attention to artistic detail, and the amount of sight gags. This show has no pathos; nobody within the show even has real emotions, or cares for another character. But this is hardly a failing - Family Guy is always the stream of unrelated jokes it's meant to be, and the random satire and references were, from about season 2-4, funny both when subtle and when ridiculously not. But from about 4/5 onwards, it's become tired ('Here's my summary of every Vince Vaughn Movie . . .') and undisguised, which sometimes makes it funnier but usually not. And, unlike the Simpsons, Family Guy seems to hate eveything but itself (and Start Wars and Kiss): all the references are disparaging. Though a good number of the racist/ablist/homophobic jokes are geniunely hilarious in their irony, and their playing off steroytypes and people's reactions to those sterotypes - and the alarming propensity for people to be offended, largely 'on behalf' of others - calling Family Guy 'racist' or 'needlessly offensive'. Such accusations only say things about the accusors' stupidity. Family Guy really shouldn't have referred to The Simpsons as 'not funny anymore', when the SImpsons was hilarious (and everything else) for about 12 years, and still is pretty funny. Family Guy was funny for two, and has never really had anything else to fall back on.

[Anonymous] gave it a2:
I liked season two and three. Those had actually clever jokes and in season three and up, the jokes were just becoming absolutely terrible.

Joshua Z gave it a10:
The type of humor is awesome. I don't get why people don't like this show.. guess they're just party poopers.

[Anonymous] gave it a3:
The season where it fell off the cliff... should never have been brought back from cancellation.

John W gave it a0:
Absolutely unfunny show. No redeeming qualities to be found here.

Jody M gave it a9:
Reginald, the example you used to express your disgust only clarified the fact that you don't get the humour. Laura Bush has a high social standing, and the writers weren't repeating this phrase because they are stupid, but rather to emphasize to everyone - "sure, she was First Lady and all that... but she still killed a guy." Which is quite funny.

Brody B gave it a10:
Brilliant! Absolutely hysterical.

Dan C gave it a10:
The show is insane......BUT IT ROCKS.everyone every where can find something to like about family guy. It will eventually replace the simpsons as the #1 adult cartoon show (perhaps only when the simpsons stops production). You have not seen true animated comedy until you have at least watchedone episode.

Aaron S gave it a9:
The show is very humorous, albeit the jokes could usually be copied and pasted into any other episode. To the people talking about "family guy bingo"... If you've ever seen ANY television show, you know that they follow a formula, and that people have things called "catch phrases". You could pretty much make bingo version of any show.

Darren E. gave it a10:
Simply Brilliant. Family Guy is one of the best animated shows on primetime television, perhaps even, there I say it, the best show on primetime television. It's clever storylines, incredibly funny characters (Stewie in particulair), but most of all it's fantastic one-liners make the show fantastic. I have no clue how the writers keep coming up with jokes that are too funny too discribe. Anybody who thinks less of this show, I don't understand. If you have never seen this show, I would advice it to you very much: Family Guy is the simple answer to the question "what is comedy?"

Reginald. P. gave it a0:
I can't figure where to begin. To use the word "humor" when refering to Family Guy is an insult to anybody who endured hours of writing, hours of physical comedy and days pondering what to do next in a show. The show relies far too heavily on other people's jokes rather than take a risk creating it's own brand of humor. Every episode repeats the same predictable formula to the point you can actually play Bingo. This is not a joke. Google "Family Guy Bingo " and click images. Every episode, even the so called new ones conform to the same unoriginal jokes even if it's painted differently. My disgust for watching this show was not always this strong. When it first premiered I found it interesting as I was fond of Beavis and Butthead while growing up. After a season of this show I realized, it's nothing like beavis and butthead. If anything it was an insult to stupid humor. An insult to original humor. An insult to American animation and the population who continue to condone this show while other quality shows get canceled in favor of more "HIP I SAW IT ON THE INTERNET SO I'LL JUST COPY IT" animations such as Family Guy. The "witty , dark humor" that people claim to exist in this show are nothing but underlying jokes that actually require explaining within the episode. Take the costume party episode where they actually repeat laura bush killed someone, constantly for several seconds. Not twice, not three times, but a whopping total of 6 times of the same phrase and no action. We got the joke. We don't need time to let it sit in, continue on to a new joke. But that's the problem. There will be no new jokes. There will only be more movie references, song references blatantly stealing episodes from other shows. I doubt anybody will actually read the entire thing before utterly disagreeing with me instantly so I won't waste their time and end here. I wish for this abomination to be cancelled and replaced with possibly more Futurama, Arrested Development or even possibly Daria. But that will not happen as long as shows such a Family Guy continue with their copy and paste comedy.

this show is amazing. The dark fuzzy humor Is great. I feel sorry for those that don't get it.

Kris K. gave it a10:
Funny. Just funny.

James C. gave it a10:
It gets funnier each episode.

Alex G. gave it a9:
It may not be as good as South Park but this very bizarre and sometimes sadistic cartoon provides laughs at almost every corner of the show from very childish humor presented as retardedness to some very adult humor that reduces cringing due to it's animated appearance.

Rikky C. gave it a6:
family guy's post cancellation isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as good as the 2000-era episodes. to be honest, i really feel that family guy has lost it's original, core audience by changing to stupid, plot-irrelevant humour. those who are smart enough to understand all of the jokes on the show are off watching smarter, wittier, more subtle shows, like say arrested development or firefly. those who don't understand the jokes enjoy family guy for it's quick-succession jokes and, well, randomness. it's good for short attention spans, but even shows like the Simpson's (mostly seasons 4-9) were able to keep their core adult/smart audiences AND put in slapstick-y jokes for a huge appeal, and they did both well. it's a shame family guy's plotlines are so thin, because the show has so much more potential than it uses.

Mitch Read gave it a10:
Family Guy rules.

Wesley M gave it a10:
Boy do these negative reviews reek of about 3 people commenting over and over... They keep using South Park jokes to attack Family Guy. Everyone who complains about the plot is absolutely correct; the plots are stupid. Who, however; says 21 minutes of vaguely connected but absolutely hilarious vignettes aren't worthwhile?

Jessica H. gave it a0:
It airs during family hour! And as a cartoon. Children watch this. Very funny for adults but all wrong for tv.

Chris C. gave it a6:
One thing that started to disappoint as family guy went mainstream was that the jokes seemed to start to become inside jokes between the writers that none of the viewers understand. A lot of time there was some joke about some actor who I don't care about, and then some stupid thing happening to him or her. I mean some of it was funny, but nothing that made me laugh out loud like the older episodes did. You wanna see good Family Guy at it's prime, buy volumes 1 and 2. Those have some good episodes on it.

Ben J. gave it a9:
Far, far funnier and darker than The Simpsons. I love this series.

Ellie H. gave it a9:
I love this show. It makes you laugh at the very true things in life. Ya, there are some pretty bad stuff on there sometimes, but that is life, and if you can't learn to except that, than the show is not for you. It is refreshing and I watch it every chance i get.

guy ! gave it a0:
I used to think it was funny, but after waking up to reality, I found out it was just idiocy. When it tries to be funny, the laughs are either low or forced, and when it isn't funny, (most of the time) I find myself staring at the screen puzzled or disgusted by its' pointless plot. Ask my brother, he hates the show too.

Jeff K. gave it a10:
the great thing about this show is that it is consistently funny every episode. Numbers aside I think this is one of the funniest shows on tv.

Brendan D. gave it a2:
I laugh at something in every single episode of "Family Guy." The thing is, when it's all said and done, I don't give a rat's ass about the characters -- for better or for worse. Even if I genuinely hated them, that'd be something, but I don't; I just don't care. So yes, it's a funny show, but genuinely great programming requires more than that; otherwise, it's sketch comedy, which doesn't work in a half-hour format.

Ramon H gave it a0:
The worst show on TV written by America's favorite manatee, Seth MacFarlane. It pays to be the brother-in-law of Fox's C.E.O.

Sam K. gave it a10:
Love it! So funny

Brent H gave it a0:
This show is written by manatees.

Lee T. gave it a5:
Peaked around s3. Has completely fallen off since its renewal. s4 was profoundly forgettable. s5 was apparently written by a pseudorandom number generator and a database of pointless pop culture cliches. This is what happens when marketers are allowed to determine the definition of "quality." R.I.P.

Mike B gave it a9:
This has to be one of the funniest shows in recent history. It is something people of both high and low intelligence can appreciate. It has references to some very humorous stuff. It may, on occasion, insult Jews, Blacks, and Christians. Calm down! The longest running insult on the show is towards the stereotypical fat white guy. This shows insults are not at all ment to be taken at hateful, but are as a result of a great deal of oversensitivity. Family Guy is skilled at offending people who are easily offended. People can take a joke love the show and some, like actor Adam West, even realize that sometimes it's fun to be made fun of.

william p. gave it a10:
if you dont like the show dont watch it. stop whining about how horrible it is and let it be. if it gets cancelled then it does. but for now let a genuiely funny show have its moments.

zubaguy w. gave it a10:
This show rocks

Maurice S gave it a0:
Imagine you gave Dane Cook a can of paint and you've got Family Guy.

James D gave it a10:
This is the funniest show on t.v and if you disagree i think your insane..the only way this is not funny is if your mentally retarted and dont have the comprehension skills to understand what is being said.

Rick S gave it a10:
Is it just me, or does the voting seem to come in floods of positives and negatives? Probably the same person just using common email account names to downvote over and over. Either way this is simply a great show, and you will have never ever seen such laugh out loud humor. However: If you overly religious, over the age of 50 and never caught up to the 21st century, assume it's just ripping off the simpsons without actually watching it, or just plain hate funny then this show is not for you.

james w gave it a10:
To settle this once and for all... Anyone who tries to compare this show with the simpsons is paying too much attention to the fact both shows only share one thing: They have stereotypical sized families which is supposed to represent the "average family". The shows otherwise are nothing alike. The Simpsons are an age old show who has done it all, and makes lots of quick (sometimes very low-key) inside jokes/references. It also tends to focus more on the story or moral of a story/episode rather than the pure comedic values of it. Family Guy is arguably on the opposite side of the spectrum; existing only for laugh out loud, and incredibly ridiculous over-the-top moments. The story is just a crux to put the characters into more and more ridiculous situations, which allows it to pull of more and more ridiculous jokes. Family guy only wants you to laugh out loud at each insane joke, from all the bizarre sequence of events.

Jeremy gave it a10:
This is a hilarious show. In every way. THEY DON'T RIP OFF THE SIMPSONS. By any means. But, on top of it all, this show makes me extremely happy for one main reason: They insult everyone that deserves to be insulted, and we don't have to do it ourselves.

hobbes calvin gave it a10:
Great and gravely funny. Not for christian rightists, obviously.

Adam W gave it a10:
some people have no sense of humor

Larry P. W gave it a10:
people who don't like this show deserve to never laugh again and be forced through chemical castration!

jazza s gave it a10:
you guys have problems this is the funniest show ever made

Theresa P gave it a0:
The worst thing that's happened to television since Leno.

Theo N gave it a0:
This is plagiarism at it's worse. I used to watch this show during it's first season and laugh two to three times an episode. I knew they were ripping off The Simpsons but only after buying all the old Simpsons season sets did I realize how bad it really was. If you find yourself laughing at one joke during the half hour but are not sure why or where you heard that joke before, go watch an old episode (1989-1997) of The Simpsons and I guarantee it will be there.

Mark S gave it a1:
I've only watched 2 episodes and it was enough to send me through the roof. I was embarrassed with the desencitizing material thought to funny. As a parent I pray more people would stand against shows that glamour rudeness, degrading language and senseless comments towards descent families.

Beth K gave it a0:
Making fun of John Goodman's obesity is not funny. Making fun of Margot Kidder's personal psychological problems is not funny. Making fun of the terrible and untimely death of Natalie Wood is tasteless and sickening. There is nothing to say about this garbage that hasn't been said many times before. When you have to suck up to a website like The Onion, of all places, you know you're sinking to a new low.

Len VM gave it a1:
If you read the 10 reviews, you find nothing but the word "best," without further elaboration. This show depends so much on stupid parodies of current ephemera that I'd be surprised if anyone watches this show in 10 years. Nonetheless, the laughter I've seen in a few people watching the show appears genuine. Maybe these fans have a stunted sense of humor. Unlike these Simpsons, this show fails to tap into any real feelings or offer real satire. It's simply irrelevant.

Ted D gave it a10:
This is simply the funniest show on tv ever.

Diid gave it a0:
Nothing to say. Used to enjoy it, but now I am sick to death of it and the entire Adult Swim audience.

Caleb C gave it a9:
This is the best comedy on television. Anyone who doesn't like this show has a compleatly legit reason why not to. Its not for everybody I'll admit . Personally I'm a Christian and some of the humor is aimed at christians which should offend me but they honestly make fun of everythingit doesn't cause I know that its just for fun and to provide outrageous laughs. Its definatly nothing to be taken seriously and thats why I love it thats why everyone else should.

Terry L gave it a10:
This show is freaking hilarious. The humor is never dry, or runs stale. All the jokes are well implemented, and there's alot of great references snuck in. As Peter once said: "Freaking awesome. ehehehehehehehehn"

Raymond P gave it a0:
My eight year old son came home from school last week going on and on about this new show called The Family Guy. Apparently he and all his friends at school watch this so I decided to look it up and see what the fuss was all about. When I tuned in I was embarassed of my son and actually felt dumber when the show finally ended. I grew up with shows like Bonanza and Adam-12, good shows with plots and interesting stories. Now this is what kids eat up today? Flashbacks, MTV-style editing and toilet humor? I no longer allow my son to watch this brain cell diminishing show and I am appalled that it has received ANY kind of good review.

Chris SR gave it a3:
After watching the show since 2000, it's funny to think about the fact that long time fans like myself have to sit through Family Guy's bloated commercialism and stale running gags...compared to more reliable shows for laughs like, The Boondocks and Robot Chicken, i'm looking forward to Family Guy getting cancelled again.

Joey W gave it a10:
The best show on TV ever. Period. The downvoters are nothing but jealous.

Jeff A gave it a10:
The best show on TV, period! The Upright Citizens Brigade and Mr. Show both suck in comparison to Family Guy. Even is judging by laughs/minute, Famliy Guy is the KING!

Ben T gave it an8:
Is still a very funny show and, comparing it to recent simpson episodes, has overtaken it in the laughter stakes. Ignore the negative reviews as this is still quite possible one of the funniest thing on TV

Davis R gave it a0:
The absolute worst show on television today. Arguably the worst show in the history of television. Why they brought this garbage back on the air I will never know. Widely panned and deserving of every bit of criticism it gets. When you're hated by the best (Groening, Ware, Parker, etc.) and loved by frat guys and pre-teens around the world then it's time to call it quits. To think immature trash like this gets to stay on the air and wonderful programming like Mr. Show and Upright Citizens Brigade gets cancelled due to poor ratings. Seth MacFarlane must be stopped or the end of animation will be here before we know it.

Mike C gave it a2:
This show is so offensive to people who are not white. It's always racist making black, jewish, asian and arabics look bad. So bad, immature, my entire family hated this crap. How can people like this show? It should be called "Racist Guy".

Eric N gave it a0:
Crappy in every single way. I found the older episodes to be funny, but now it's old as it ALWAYS tries to make fun of people. Unoriginal, stupid and immature. What a horrible show that should have stayed cancelled.

Mike M gave it a0:
Don't beleive the above score. They only took 5 reviews. This show deserves a 4/10 at the most. Rarely ever funny. How could anyone compare this to Seinfeld?!?

Michelle O gave it a1:
Horrible. Used to be funny, now it's just stupid My one point does to the great voice acting, but that's it.

Michael B gave it a0:
This show is one of the worst in history. Stupid, immature, senseless, crude, and honestly, pathetic. This show desperately makes fun of the same topics over and over again, and it's just plain old and dumb. If you have some real class, skip this mockery of a TV show and watch Curb your Enthusiasm, that is, if you're not too stupid and immature, like this show.

Jason T gave it a4:
This comedy used to be better. It had some really hilarious jokes, but now it just sickens me. And I say that honestly, because this show was cancelled and brought back, but the ultra-funny Arrested Development was cancelled. This show can be amazingly hilarious, buit not anymore. Now, it's always stupid with the dumbest jokes as it still tries to make fun of people ,which is old, unoriginal, and just plain stupid. It make me wonder what fools are out there that prefer this show to others. It's sad, really, to find this junk to be funny. It rarely makes sense, and the oly reason I didn't give it a worse score is because of Seth McFarlane's fantastic voice-overs, and some jokes that are actually funny, but that rarely ever happens. It's the perfect example of how stupid people really are of requesting this garbage over a true classic such as Arrested Development, of Everybody Loves raymond. Some real comedies.

john w gave it a5:
Works about half the time.

R Gomez gave it a10:
Family Guy must be the all time FUNNIEST show EVER made. Never, watching a tv show, have I ever laughed SO HARD that it hurt! Its always fresh and pushing the boundaries. LONG LIVE FAMILY GUY!!!

Guy J gave it a6:
Can be quite funny at times, but overuses jokes, as well as having many interchangable ones. Seeing an episode where they take something completely out of place, give it human qualities and a "gay" voice with a lisp isn't funny week after week. Also, the non-sequeters just get kind of stupid.

Fraser W gave it an8:
Family Guy whoaaaa i just want to say one thing. This is one of the funniest shows ever to be shown on FOX and everywhere else... OVERALL: A

Kyleigh H gave it a10:
Family Guy is totally cool! I love that show. I was upset when they first canceled it which was a BIG MISTAKE! Now they've brought it back and it is much more funnier than ever. I love seeing all the reruns on TBS and Cartoon Network. Family Guy is my favorite show next to ER of course.

Luka S gave it a9:
This is extremly good. I'd give it 6 Emmy Awards

Nerrt M gave it a10:
After getting an unprescedented reprieve from Cancellation Hell, season 4 had to show why it was given a second shot...and did it ever! Frequently brilliant, always hilarious, it's still the best animated program on TV.

Joe B gave it a10:
Family Guy is far and away one of the best comedies on television--it pushes the envelope and has great social commentary, all wrapped in a hilarious dysfunctional family. Comic genius!
