Plays more like a daytime soap than a serious drama. In-fighting, backstabbing, internal political-games, all we're missing now is the invasion of France and we've got Caesar’s Rome - which was more successful, better governed, and would have simply cut Donald Sutherland's head off and moved on! As will I.

Nancy S gave it a10:
Best best show that i have never seen, even better than prison break. hope we could see more and more seasons.

John C gave it a10:
As a writer I say that this is the best on TV because everything thing else was slow. I also would like to say that if I had wrote this it would be the same as you guys have writen it. Thanks for putting ideas into peoples head because now we see the President in a whole new way Thanks. PS put it back on please because many of us that do like it need something to watch besides LOST and if you guys need help writing I'm willing.

Helen M gave it a10:
This show was one of the best ever. Why was it canceled?? Let me guess ,Commander in Chief was a woman. She was too good so Big brother had to get rid of her.

Stian B gave it a1:
I love political drama shows, but this one was pathetic. It didn't seem 'real' and there were too much 'hollywood' politics in the script.

Belinda F gave it a0:
Were they this desperate to reuse the set? A poor, embarrassing follow-up to 'The West Wing'.

Susan P gave it a0:
This show is sooo bad. The writing is bad. The acting is bad. The politics are way off any responsible person's map. Its bad bad bad bad bad and I was so looking forward to it.

Peter M gave it a9:
best entertainment I have seen in years ( and I am old)

Roz H gave it a10:
A great show! Geena Davis is superb in her role - the show is a great inspiration to many female business professionals.

Susan M gave it a10:
10 for content and a bold venture! At last a show with substance and a hard, positive look at moral issues. CIC awakens a yearning for government based on principle, a yearning for what we used to believe it should really be--and all in a woman's hands. No wonder they took it off the air, and how sad that is. Taking all the snipes and gripes about script, schmaltz and stiffness into consideration, I definitely believe CIC should be given a chance!

Jo C gave it a10:
its a really good show

Jason M gave it a10:
For the first time in a long time I felt proud to be an American, although it was only a show, it made you feel proud of your country all over again. I would wait all week for this show to be on, they claim that the show had ratings drops, that was only because of the long time of it being off the air due to the olympics and then the time and day changes that were made. Please ABC bring this show back or sell the rights to another network.

Martin S gave it a1:
Anybody who watched the West Wing knows what a complete joke this show was. Thank god it was canceled before the next presidential election. I honestly believe it would have damaged Hillary's chances.

Terri O gave it a10:
It makes no sense that they would cancel this show. Are they really listening to us? Do they really care what we want to watch? I don't think so.

Melisa V gave it a10:
Good drama... hell of a lot better than some of the crap on tv now...

B Ribeiro gave it a10:
I AM FURIOUS! I can't believe that such wonderfully written and acted show has been taken off the air. Not only is it lots of fun to watch, it's a marvelous way to learn about how Government works and to see a woman who is comfortable with power, knowledgeable and wise in applying it, and still there for her family. Hey ABC, what gives? Did you chicken out under political pressures? Are you blind? Can't you guys see what a gem you've just discarded, along with its chance ro rise above and beyond the rampant, shameless mediocrity festering on TV so destructively? I PROTEST, along with a sizable share of your audience. I request reconsideration and hope you come to your senses before, and I'm sure that's bound to happen, a cable channel with more vision picks it up and gives it the chance it and we deserve.

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
I loved the show and I am sorry that it was canceled. It was not The West Wing, but it complemented it in my opinion.

Trevor gave it a10:
Fascinating look at the morality a woman might bring to the most powerful job on the planet. Obligatory viewing. What dickhead cancelled this show?

M Reid gave it a9:
OK, so it's not the West Wing, but will anything ever match up to that? ABC1 in the UK has just aired the episode about the ERA, and though sometimes a bit cheesy, and sometimes stiff, this show is important - it gets Americans and people around the world used to the idea of a woman as US President.

bill f gave it a9:
was the smartest tv show that i've ever seen, i don't understand why was cancelled

Emily B gave it a10:
I really enjoyed this show and looked forward to each episode. I am very disapointed that it was given so short a run.

ROBERT H gave it a10:
Its my favorite program, but who cares. Its a clean and decent show for the whole family. We need more decent shows for the entire family.Im about ready to pitch tv set in the trash.

Jerry B gave it a10:
Why would ABC cancel a show as good as Commander in Chief and keep shows like W ife Swap,Supernanny, and things like One: Making A Music Star. Is this mindless crap the best ABC can do.

claire q gave it a10:
This is my fave TV show I really love it. The acting is great and I Love how it shows family life of the President.

Arturo H gave it a9:
sometimes it is excellent

Paul K gave it a9:
Very entertaining show.

Jeremy M gave it a10:
This show is absolutely Outstanding. Gina Davis is one of the best actresses to hit the screen. The story is great and I recommend it to guys who like a good kick butt show

Brian H gave it a0:
I was offended by the whole idea of a woman as president. This is a communist-hollywood experiment that is a fundamental threat to American Democracy. We need Joe McCarthy again. If this Show is cancelled, I say good ridance. All we have to deal with is the bitter memories that will haunt us forever.

Taye S gave it a10:
This is my favourite show, it makes me all patriotic and I'm not even American! Joke aside, I believe Commander in Chief is one of the more, if not most, important drama series I have seen on TV, simply because of the gender and political issues it has dappled with. I love the fact that the president is a woman-- I think the women on this site can definitely identify with the ways she has handled so many of the series' issues, and possibly the men too? And I appreciate the way that this series is surely going to pave the way for more strong female characters in the industry.. so I really hope it will make a comeback on TV.

William C gave it a10:
Commander-in-cheif is one of the best shows on TV now. I am a conservative republican and I love it. Wouldn't miss it! PLease keep this excellent drama on!!

willieboy gave it a6:
I would have given a 7, but then I saw the last episode: The President (Gina Davis) decides her lasting legacy as she leaves office will be the reinstatement of the failed ERA Amendment. She grows nostalgic and misty-eyed about NOW (the National Organization for Women) and is overcome with emotion as she breathlessly reminds her press secretary, 'They changed the world!' I nearly fell over laughing... The show has been canceled--at no loss to the public forum.

Octavio A gave it a10:
I like this show ... why can you give it a chance. Be bold and take a risk. I know you will not regret it.

Syntia A gave it a10:
Commander in Chief is one of the best show I've seen in ABC... I usually watch FOX, but lately you've been doing well. Do not stop now by cancelling CiC.

Justin C gave it a10:
Great Show!

Steve T gave it a10:
Best new show in a LONG TIME! Why do such wastes of time like "My Name Is Earl" make it out there....maybe it says a lot about the 'people' out there watching. :(

Ricky R gave it a9:
It will be a shame if they cancel this show. While it isn't West Wing, it is has thought proviking moments that makes it worth while to watch. I would really rather watch this show than some silly reality tv or worse...another half-attempt at comedy that ultimately relies on canned laughter.

christine r gave it a9:
one of the most innovative, intelligent shows out there!

Lee H gave it a10:
What a mistake to take this show off the air. There is so much garbage on with all the Reality shows (except for the talent shows) and you want to take this show which is so entertaining off the air. Shame on you, whoever you are. Please, please don't.

Tiik Tiik gave it a10:
This is the best show going, along with The Closer. I am crushed that it is being canceled. Can we petition ABC? All of my friends are upset. Really, no one can believe it. the show is just getting it's sea legs....and doing a great job of that. The character relationships are excellent and exciting to watch develop. Geena Davis is amazing as President, and the first woman president. She is the perfect actor for this role. I believe her. She IS the President. The dynamic with her husband is VERY real. The Donald Sutherland character is so divinely egomaniacal, he annoys the "H" out of me and I love hating him. The politics they tackle are thrilling and soooo on time. Hey...is there any conspiracy here? Are the Bushy's shutting it down? Are they threatened because Geena Davis is such a great President, so much better than Bush? So they call ABC and put the screws on? Hmmmmmmm!!!! Well, Hoover is not around anymore, yet it does make me wonder because of the intense topics the show has broached. After the one they did on how to handle a foreign hostage crisis I thought the Bushy's might call ABC and have a nice "chat".

Samson H gave it a10:
Great, because it has lots of aspects ... political (president), emotional (the First Gentleman), teen-angst soap (the twin kids), and ... what West Wing was missing ... a real villian (Mr. Speaker, Donald Sutherland)

Jody L. gave it a10:
Can't believe this excellent show is being cancelled and yet all those ridiculous reality shows go on and on!

Rai Trice W gave it a10:
i love this show, it is perhaps the best show that i've ever watched and to hear that it might be cancelled is very disappointing, it is a great show because it empowers women and gives women convidence and makes them feel like a women of worth, that anything really is posible. i stoped watching one of my favorite tv shows for this show and i dont wanna see this one end just yet.

Toshia Y gave it a10:

Simply the best show in television today. We're sad to see it go.

Debbie B gave it a10:
A wonderful show and an excellent cast. Wish they would reconsider the cancellation.

Tom B gave it a10:
Great show! Interesting scenario. It's a shame it's been cancelled, especially considering some of the shows that were not!

Pam H gave it a10:
This is so much better than half the junk on t.v. now. So much for quality television.

Kevin H gave it a10:

Robin H gave it a10:
I agree with everyone who is complaining about the breaks! It was one of my favorites I am very disapointed!

L buford-kelly gave it a10:
why is this showing going off the air if it was the highest rating show on tuesday nite with 14.7 million viewers

Nicole S gave it a10:
A woman as president? What more is there that you need to know?! Baby steps are better than no steps at all.

Cheryl S gave it a9:
Give "Commander in Chief" a second season!! Initial reviews were mixed but the talent and performances are excellent!! The show had a great start, but was thrown off track due to date and time changes. Give it a good consistent spot, with good writing, and it will be a hit!! Thanks!!

Julie M gave it a10:
This is a great show. Please do not take it off the air.

tyler d gave it a10:
GREAT SHOW. ABC really messed this one up big time!

Matthew S gave it a10:
i love this new tv show full of action and drama

D Henson gave it a10:
This was an excellent TV show. It sure beats all these so called reality programs.

Connie C gave it a10:
jPlease bring Commander-inChief back! It's one of the highlights of my TV watching week. It seems you've done all you can to do this show in - moving day and time arbitrarily, and taking it off altogether for weeks at a time. How can you keep an audience this way? I'm about ot gilve up on the networks. Reality shows replace creativity, is that it? Please don't cancel this show!

Greg B gave it an8:
This is a new program, like all new programs, it will take a while to get the writers niche, KEEP IT GOING!

Steve C gave it a10:
second favorite show on TV behind House. Was my favorite until they started messing with the schedule. Bring it back if it is cancelled and quit messing with the schedule and stop taking breaks.

Al G gave it a10:
Wow! Big mistake taking CIC off the air. Great casting; great stories; excellent directing. I've been looking forward to the show every Tuesday evening (and Thursday nights too) since the first episode aired in September '05. Maybe move the show back to 9 o'clock. Thanks.

ll gave it a10:
this is an incredibly powerful program in which issues with the current US administration and different ways to handle them are explored. It was also wonderful seeing a woman in the most powerful role in the US.

Joe S gave it a10:
This show should be gaining the crowd from the West WIng and keeping its already captive audience. Instead of cancelling I would have advertised and bright in a strong new season this fall, leaving the spring with a good finale, of course. Too bad!

Lindsey S gave it a10:
I feel like I'm being tortured by ABC. Good grief! Bring the darned thing back!

Donna J gave it a10:
I really enjoyed this show. I hope you reconsider and keep this show going. I'm with Brenda " Quit teasing us and bring it back!!!!!!!!"

Liz H gave it a10:
It is very refreshing to see a show give a woman a roll that is interesting, knowledgeable and holding her own in a man's world, I am 82 years old and I hope to see a woman as president before I leave this earth.

LJ Arnold gave it a10:
I love the story lines for Commander in Chief - refreshing not predictable. It's no wonder the ratings are low - it's been cancelled, brought back, different day, different time - just keep us guessing. Give it a chance - pick a day, pick a time and stick with it. Tuesday at 9 pm works for me.

Joe K gave it a10:
When will we see the show again???

Norma M gave it a10:
One of the best shows & thank God it is a different kind of "reality show." The stories are compelling & the actors are superb. Please keep this show going & maybe the ratings will improve if scheduled at another time (not against ER and W/O a Trace).

Brenda J gave it a10:
Commander in Chief is the best show, Geenda Davis makes a great President and come on Donald Sutherland makses the best bad guy in town. Come on and quit teasing us and bring the show back!!!!!!

Franklin W gave it a10:
I have heard that they may cancel this show. I think women everywhere should stand up and fight to keep it on the air. I am a Professor of Criminal Justice and my female students need this show. It gives women and most importantly girls a role model to look up to. Further males need to this show to deprogram their minds that men are the only people who can be leaders. Some I believe probably fear it, because it could happen in the near future.

mary h gave it a10:
Ms. Davis does a wondweful job and I'd like to see Commander In Chief renewed for next season.

Amy H gave it a10:
My favorite show. Too bad our current CIC doesn't have the same convictions.

Larry H gave it a9:
One of the best shows on television and one of the only reasons for turning on the TV. This political drama is intelligent and has relevance to our society. Even though ABC doesn't poll me, I think sponsors of the show might be interested to know that there might be more viewers than polls show.

Ann E gave it a10:
Best show on TV. We enjoy watching it. Thank you for putting it back on the air. It is very interesting watching a Lady and a perfect one in Geena Davis portraying President of U.S. I think it is entertaining and as well as the showing us the realization of a woman in the White House and how great it could be. The acting is superb on Geena's and Donald's part as well.

norma i gave it a10:
we enjoyed watching the show. it's the best. my friends & my family love to watch this show. thank you for putting back. we have been waiting for long long time.it's really interesting for lady as a president.please don't stop keep going. thanks again.

carmen s gave it a10:
my family favorite show, it is not a fairytale, it is an upcoming reality.

cheryl m gave it a10:
This is one of the BETTER shows on television and I believe the network and the sponsors should realize that not just the "immature" 20 year olds of today watch television. I'm a baby boomer and we are the ones who spend the money or give it to the 20 year olds to spend. Give us TV like this all the time!!!

Philip G gave it a10:
This show is the best, and this is a good time to have this show, for the new up and comeing election of a women.

Bernie S gave it a10:
Best drama on TV.

Geoff T gave it a10:
Please bring back, long term, this great show. I just wish the network producers would be more wise and forceful in getting a good schedule placement for this show. I hate it when the consumer becomes collateral damage in the war of the network ratings!

John V gave it a10:
ABC's 'Commander In Chief' portrays perfectly the many aspects of the political challenges involved with the position of president. Its controversial perspective of a woman and a Liberate as President of the United States is not only intriguingly entertaining, but also an influential realization that differs from what our nation is used to when it comes to the presidency.

Rickey B gave it a10:
This has the real glitches of any Political endeavor built in to the fabric of this show.

Maria Eugenia D gave it a10:
Commander in Chief is as good as it gets, the very BEST. I do not appreciate taking it off the air for any other show and specially such a silly one. Geanna is made for this role and I await her return eagerly. This has messed up my tuesdays schedule tremendously.

james r gave it a2:
this show is boring and completely unbelievable. I love geena davis, but this show is just bad!

Deb A gave it a10:
I love it. The story line is probably more realistic than The West Wing which is more idealistic. But I love them both and I will miss The West Wing.

Susan K gave it a10:
My favorite show on TV. I can't wait to see it again. Have really missed it.

Eugene B gave it a9:
I enjoyed it. Where is it? Replaced by another detective show, Oh No!

Ruth L gave it a10:
Why has the show not been on recently?

Surya-Patricia H gave it a10:
One of the most exciting tv shows in years.

S Green gave it a10:
Miss seeing this show. Holds my interest from beginning to end. Probably wishful thinking on my part, but would like to see an intelligent Commander-in-Chief in the White House.

christine f gave it a10:
Great Show with exceptional cast. Goes to show what a woman in the white house can accomplish. She is down to eaeth, strong and just a joy to watch. I hope this show doesn't get the AX. Take off the silly sitcoms and leave Commander In Chief on. Let Mr. Bush see what and how a woman can do in the oval office, since he can't do much but smirk and not even speak well. He needs to learn the english language and stay in Texas with all the oil barons. Please do not cancel this wonderful show. Thank You

craig f gave it a10:
expand the storylines to more than one episode. A nuclear crisis cannot be handled in one hour.

Lorie gave it a10:
An absolutely incredible show!

Marimar K gave it a2:
A golden globe for geena davis??? I havent seen such bad acting since Debbie did Dallas!!! The show is definatly pretty, but blatantly idealistic and so ubelievable as to regard its viewers as flag waving morons.

Marcy R gave it an8:
Great show. I was fully hooked on it and looked forward to each new show. Too bad the network couldn't stand up to the pressure from people who didn't want to see a woman in the role of president. I thought it was inspirational.

cs design gave it a10:
FABulous show. Characters that act like real human beings, instead of cookie-cutter cuties of typical tv. A decision-maker who weighs options, considers risks, then stays true to her word. I like thinking this is how politics SHOUld be -- even with the scheming and pettiness there is respect and politeness. Try it, even republications like it!

emily m gave it a10:
i think geena davis is the best actress ever annd this show is alsome creative.. i love the show a whole lot

Beverly R gave it a10:
I am told this show is going off the air and I want to know why!! It's one of the best that I've seen in a very long time!!

R Roger gave it a10:
Great show.

Prudence K gave it a0:
Worst show on TV. Geena Davis is simply awful.

Mike L gave it a10:
I think it is a great show also, I give it a 10

kaha kaha gave it a2:
not very real, the writer's have no concept of our government and how it operates. I was a fan until last night on the korea problem...korea can not hit washington with a nuc, and china is it 's major backer they would never help the US in this case. The OHIO class sub would never be used to gather intel off the coast of korea...maybe a LA or seawolf... so if you want to get me back as a viewer get real!!!! or I'll just watch Fear factor

Julio A gave it a1:
Victim mentality, anyone?

Doris l gave it a10:
Fantastic show!

gwen b gave it a10:
this is the best television program since Judging Amy which was a favorite of mine for years. I do hope it will continue

Jim gave it a9:
Pushing the envelope. Freesh appraoch making teh President a human being. Excellent

Yo Namara gave it a6:
Not great but not severely bad. Average to Poor writing. A lot of "Feel Good" factors, which take away the realism of political dramas. The problems may be credited to inexperience issues of being a 1st season show. Well, it won't be longer than 2 seasons at this rate.

Anthony G gave it a9:
I love this show. Actually I have stopped watching TV, until just recently when I got wind of the Comm chief episode. I was excited to have a quality show back on the air.

Ace Ventura gave it a0:
The most ridiculous characterization I have ever witnessed. Evil Republican wolves lurking behind little school girl Demorats attempting to do good by bombing Nigeria simply so a woman can keep her right to be adultrous. Hillarious concept.

Florence R gave it an8:
Refreshing to see a woman in such a powerful role. Some of the plot lines are a stretch, but overall the show is quite enjoyable.

zach t gave it a1:
If I felt we had a president like the one Davis portrays. I just might move to Canada. Where's the wisdom...eh?

Pablo G gave it a5:
After only 4 chapters (downloaded to my ipod) and being a "West Wing" fan, all I can said is that the script is poor for making handling of political problems so easy. I am not a US citizen and the way this series is handling international conflicts is like a dream, the true is what everybody knows (Irak, etc). I gave a 5 to the series because the great performance of characters.

Mike B gave it a0:
Geena Davis is horrible

Craig E gave it a10:
Finally.. Television worth watching. Makes the "West Wing" production look like a day time soap.

Dianne M gave it a10:
This is the best show on television. It's the only show that I'll actually go out of my way to watch. I'm anxiously awaiting the next episode.

Anita M gave it a10:
I love it. Where is it now? Just as we were ready to settle in it's gone. I hate it when the networks do this. Start it in a time so we can plan on it. PLEASE

Frank J gave it a10:
It's just a hoot. I like the actors (Geena Davis & Donald Sutherland)and I like the premise.

Mike R gave it a9:
Great theme. Geena Davis is an excellent choice for the CIC role, and lives up to anticipation; she has the right gravitas. Like the personalization of the President here, which succeeds more than West Wing (another fine show). And Donald Sutherland is the perfect Machiavellian. The difference between Davis and Dubya is startling, and we'd vote for Davis over Dubya any time.

Manly B gave it a10:
Well written, actors Geena Davis and Donald Southland are great and my wife and I watch it faithfully every Tuesday. Hope this series continues for a long time.

amelia gave it a10:
love it. its entertaining, interesting , and it provides the first popular image that we have of a female president. and among the few images we have of a compassionate, rational, thoughtful, decisive leader as well. fairy tale? perhaps. but media tends to lead the way to positive change, so.. we can hope that this is a step toward reality..

Laura L gave it a9:
This is a gripping show that will shed some light on the issue of women being in power.

Lisa H gave it a10:
I think this is an excellent show. I do not normally watch TV but I don't miss an episode. I think Gena Davis has created a very believable and sympathetic character who is definitely up to the job. I love the way in which she juggles her role as president with her rold as wife and mother.

Mark A gave it a2:
She is not believable as CinC.

Jan W gave it a10:
Geena Davis is excellent in her executive role, very believable (intelligent, thoughtful, decisive, and her gestures and facial expressions are so gracious - she is a delight to see in action! I have not been hooked on a show in (many) years, and ... this one got me! Donald Sutherland has always been a favorite actor of mine. His role is despicable and makes one want to totally hate him - which just reinforces my belief – he is an outstanding actor! The supporting cast is also very strong and a pleasure to watch the magic they all make together. Hope the show has a long run. I am a solid fan now!

Glenda J gave it a10:
We love everything about this show EXCEPT for the excessive advertising that constantly interrupts the flow. We're often gone when the show is aired and must tape it. The number and length of commericals is amazing, so we can watch the taped show in about 40 miinutes.

Megan S gave it a10:
It is one of the best shows ever! Geena Davis plays an excellent President. What woman doesn't dream of becoming President? She is a strong and compelling, but yet still impassive. Additionally, this show adds the topic of family and what really goes on in both the White House and Washington D.C. It's amazing, everyone must watch it! Two thumbs up to Davis!

jon r gave it a10:
Brilliant. Love geena

Lorraine M gave it a10:
One of my favorite shows I look forward to seeing Geena every week. She plays the role superbly. And it brings a fresh look to running a nation with a woman in office, bringing compassion and moral standards into the political arena to support not only the nation as a whole and her family, but keeping in mind the little people who make up the body of the nation. Wish some of this fiction ethics would rub off to the real life players in the running of this nation. Inspirational!

Adam L. gave it a10:
How Could You say this sucks?! This is just the most amazingly believeable show on television today. Usually I don't watch television but Tuesday night with this along with The Biggest Loser are the only times I watch telveision and thet're the bomb!

Millie H gave it a2:
This is the worst show ever.

.Grace M gave it a10:
One of 3 shows we find watching on prime time. I hope it has a long running future on TV. Gena Davis is great in her role as president. Good luck to them.

Vlad S gave it an8:
I love this show because it's more than competently produced (writing, direction, acting, sets), has an excellent cast -- ALL the leads and primary supports are good, and I care about what happens. This is also a good complement to West Wing since it does not try to be as WONK-ish... more like a West Wing + Dallas (with Donald Sutherland reveling as a latter day J.R.). Up against "House" in my market, this is the show I watch first while "House" gets TIVO'd.

Nancy G gave it a3:
Shudder... a too-frequent nice-girl smile, flat and facile scripts, stiff acting by all (except Sutherland), unrealistic and formulaic plots and mottos and platitudes for lines. This could have been so much richer. And, I love Geena Davis' other work, so I have to believe that she just has nothing to work with and poor direction. I really wanted to like this show, but it makes me just groan. Ugh.

Kathleen C gave it a10:
Geena Davis was born for this role. Love each episode, esp. when she ambushed Speaker Templeton! Her just instincts and unwavering integrity are an oasis of sanity for our upside down poisonous political times.

Ana C gave it a10:
Geena Davis, amazing!! It takes some acting skills to pull off bieng the first female president of tht US, and she does it radiantly....If you expected a heavy political show, this is not the one for you. However, I find the story lines fascinating, watching the president jugle her duties as president, as mom with rebel teenagers, and a jealous husband.

Efiam S gave it an8:
Tension between Mac and foes is great. Really enjoy the great # of sub plots but on some of them the premises are to simplistic. Overall I really like it and Geena is great.

maria e gave it a10:
Geena Davis is an amazing actress w/ brains beauty and talent! this show is awesome!!! gotta love her!

rona p gave it a10:
The role of Keaton played by Peter Coyote is interesting in the light of the current debate on the vice -president and his influence. Mr. Coyote is an excellent addition to the cast.

Diana L gave it a10:
excellent show tjust the way politics are

mmyah gave it a0:
Geena Davis, please get off tv.

Jim G gave it a5:
A desultory combination of The West Wing and All My Children. When a woman finally becomes President, it will be more the former and less the latter. Mac and the show aren't going to make it if she keeps trying to be a good-enough parent. The White House will never be a family-friendly employer.

Ralph C gave it a1:
Geena Davis is one of my favorites. I will watch that dumb movie "Earth Girls are Easy" because of her. But I will not subject myself to this piece of poorly written and thought out program. I have watched about 10 mins of 2 episodes and found it dull and repetitive of the same old same old. The West Wing really shows political life inside of the White House. This is a poor ripoff and we all should find better programing to watch. Please watch anything else, but this program

This is a fantastic new show-- Geena Davis as "Mac" makes a convincing president -- she has the look, the brains, and the finesse. Her role as a mother suffers, however, and her role as a wife is iffy. Goos tension with Donal Sutherland (Templeton). This is the best new TV series on the air.

Rosanne P gave it a1:
I love the program but the huge number of commercials is totally unacceptable. It makes the program unwatchable. Stop already or you will lose your audience.

Sean L gave it a9:
This is a fantastic show... it can be a little corny and is definitely over-dramatic (with a new world disaster happening every week) but it's great television.

lisa p gave it a10:
Great storylines. I thought this show would be a preachy advertisment for womens lib, but its not. What I like most about it is that the position of president could be played by either a man or woman based on the storylines. Gina Davis is spectacular though and Donald Sutherland plays a role that you love to hate. Top notch

Jaspar C gave it a5:
Not a bad show on premise, but it just seems a little thin on content. Davis is a good actress, but she's hard to understand sometimes as she talks without moving her mouth.

Jared Prophet gave it a10:
Very Cool.

Great sets, not accurate. Great light and color but all big Series have that. Stupid insultingly ignorant political situations and the same for the World Leader characters. Example the Russian President would have pointed out the Alien and Sedition Acts of our first 12 plus years as a country as justification for their jailing seditious Journalists. And this opportunity to incorporate the real history of America in the way the real World Leader would have is just one of the missed opportunities to be true to real life while fictionally pursuing a story line and character development that would mesmerize and titillate the viewers here and even in the rest of the TV addicted world.

Finally, a show about a woman in command. Who has intelligence, grace, dignity, respect, & loves her family. Keep up the great work. Drfinitely a 'must see' on my weekday schedule.

This show is pretty thin on content, especially when companred to a real political drama like The West Wing. It's not that Davis doesn't try, it's that she's trying too hard. On the one hand, the series is constantly repeating the fact that Mac is the first female president (over and over again until even us women's libbers are sick of it, and is it a coincidence that her nickname, Mac, is pretty darn masculine?), but on the flip side, they consistently make reference to how demeaning it is for her husband to be the First Spouse (apparently, such a role insults his masculinity and should be reserved for women.) And the writing is just awful. I mean, did anyone bother to proof read this thing?? In her first speech to a joint session of Congress, Mac says, "But soon we have to return to the future..." Unless you're Michael J Fox, you can't return to somewhere you've never been. Hey Mac, a suggestion - get Toby and Sam on your Communications team. Bartlett never would have made a junior mistake like that.

People are getting this show confused with the West Wing, which represents the current state of Washington politics from the point of view of a Democrat's wet dream. And that's fine with me. Commander in Chief is NOT the West Wing. Instead, this seems to be a social experiment preparing for the inevitable emergence of female leaders in the United States. We know that Hillary is going to run, and I wouldn't be surprised if Condi Rice runs too. I have heard that Republican women have a better chance of women, although I can't imagine someone like my right-wing mother ever voting for a politician that doesn't pee standing up. As for Commander in Chief itself, it's character driven and the point seems to be that women rule through consensus and pragmatism. The male ego is absent and so being tough or doing things that would impress other countries (submissive women) make no sense in their thinking. This is altogether correct and accurate. I really like Geena Davis, a woman who has an IQ in the 150s, playing this role of a smart and practical woman in charge of the most powerful country in the world. It would be nice if the plots were more realistic, and some of the simpering secondary characters (her husband, for one) are irritating. But I like the guy who plays her nemesis, Donald Sutherland. I will keep watching and hoping for some better ideas. Right now C and C is good but not great.

JOSHUA L gave it a0:
Absolutely brutal. "When your neighbours house is on fire you don't haggle over the price of your garden hose", 911 for Commander

Sam gave it a6:
Is it a great show? No. Did it feature tons of promise? Yes. Does it still have its charms and promise? Yes.

George H. gave it an8:
Entirely engaging characters and fine performances. Good writing so far. The test will be if the storylines are entertaining - don't care much if they're plausable. It's only TV after all.

Tom Wolfe gave it an8:
Not appropriate for those seeking hard news, but timely and pefect for the TV venue. Wasn't really sold until Davis talked Coyote into the VP job. Great scene!. "What'll you be doing for the next two years?" Hopefully watching "C and C".

Joshua M gave it a10:
It's the most intelligent show on television! I love it.

Jacob L gave it a7:
No, the show is not brilliant, but Geena Davis is good. And it is not realistic, but it is fun to fantasize with the writers about a different a political reality. I find the idea of an "independent" President to be more interesting then the idea of a "woman" president. I think that it has the potential to be good, if the writers dare to write some failure into the show, and maybe some challenges other than one sneaky politician - ones that don't resolve all happily at the end of the episode.

Carrie T gave it a10:
Great writing, casting, and long overdue. How refreshing to see excellence on the small screen!

Shannon F gave it a10:
It's a great start to what can be a wonderful series

Dan B. gave it a6:
Bartlett Is My President.

Timothy H gave it a1:
the show is flat, booring and an obvious attempt to force a woman president down our throats by hollywood, i am all for a female president but with hillarys ties to hollywood, hmmm could it be, nah they are not that mean are they, the show just plain sucks and will ride a liberal base for awhile until its dropped.

Sarah F gave it a10:
i wathced this show and really liked it - i'm so happy to see Geena davis back in front fo the cameras

John B gave it a10:
wicked show, this one

sam j gave it a10:
AMAZING television

Andrew gave it a4:
Utter pap. The only show I know where I changed the channel before the episode was finished. I have not seen the West Wing so I have no frame of reference for political shows, but I would think a show about a female president would be more interesting and gender-debunking.

Marc D. gave it a3:
Thank god this show is no good. I watch too much TV as it is, but I feel guilty when I'm missing something good. If it's nowhere near as good as The West Wing, then why watch it? It's got no "bite" to it. I loved Kyle Secor from "Homicide", but not as a castrano... First lady my butt!!

Brandon S gave it a7:
To me, it's basically "The West Wing Lite." Fortunately, the show's producers openly admit that it isn't and likely can't ever be as good as The West Wing (now or ever). The most accurate review I've seen describes the show as more of an allegory about females in the work-place, played out in the nation's highest office. If the show stays focused, I think we've got some excellent entertainment in our future. (And I'm confident in any show with Kyle Secor.)
