[Anonymous] gave it a9: Definetly worth playing for even if you are not adventure game maniac, story is just so good.
Peter P. gave it a10: Very good game, in some parts a bit to hard to control, but you have all the time you need.
s w gave it a9: One of the best stories ever in any art medium.
IamNlCK gave it a6: The same in-depth story/clever dialog that you have come to expect from the original "Longest Journey" are in this sequel. However you, in no way control any of the events that transpire, and have no control over where conversations go. The gameplay and fight system are extremely boring, and uninvolving. I would enjoy seeing this in a movie, rather than "playing" through it as a videogame.
Ivan B. gave it a9: Very powerfull storytelling...refreshing to 'play' a game that isn't really a game. I've played this game a couple of days straight because the storyline is so addicting...great stuff for those that like stories !
Midnight gave it a9: Great story, intriguing characters. Not too much gameplay, but you wont have time to miss it.
[Anonymous] gave it a9: One of the very few really good games to come out in recent years.
C. Lawrence gave it a4: Beware. No character improvement, no collecting to speak of, no money, unsatisfying puzzles and almost no action. It is very much like navigating a cartoon through a melodrama. The story is kind of neat, but there is more story then game, and I wanted to play a game with choices and stategy. I can see why some people like it, I guess I'm just not one of those people.
Todd K. gave it a4: One word describes this game....BORING!! Unless you have had at least 4 Red Bulls before playing, make sure a pillow is near so your head doesn't hit the ground to hard when you fall asleep. Or better yet, play right from bed with your wireless remote.
Rebecca G. gave it a10: Best story so far.
Jim gave it a10: Possibly the best interactive story ever told.
Ben F. gave it a9: Good though somewhat flawed gameplay is quickly forgotten as you become wrapped up in the staggeringly amazing story!
Haze gave it an8: Dreamfall is more an experiment in interactive fiction than a game. Aside from a few easy puzzles, some boring combat (with no more than 10 or 15 enemies in total) and some running around to fetch various items, there is very little actual gameplay. If you're the kind of person who always breezes past cutscenes, you'll probably want to avoid this one since at least 75% of the time you're watching, not playing. While that may all sound fairly negative (and at odds with the 8 rating I'm giving this game) there is much to recommend this game. The soundtrack, voice acting, environments and imagery are all at a very high level and the story is great. From a pure gaming point of view, Dreamfall may fall somewhat short, but for those who enjoy movies as much as they enjoy games and who are able to set aside preconceptions, this is an experience worth checking out. What Dreamfall does do well is tell a story.
