Jack B. gave it a9: One of my favorite games on the Gamecube. A brilliant and well-developed game.
Jonny L. gave it a2: this game is the dumbest peice of crap i've ever seen. To create an element of skill in the game that it would otherwise lack, nintendo put special moves into a game of tennis. this game is boring and i reccomend nobody buy it.
Pedro R. gave it a10: Unlimited fun! As it happens with every super mario feature (like super mario strikers, super smash brothers melee, mario party and more we all know about)
Harry H. gave it a10: This game is so great i have played it for the last 79 days and i know that sounds stupid but it is true. Another great game on the gamecube.
Will gave it a10: It is mint, basically.
Blue Falcon gave it an 8: This game is very much like the Mario Golf sequel on gamecube. Camelot for the most part got it right, but they also added some minor unwelcome elements (for mario golf it was an easy swing that can't be disabled and boo moving across the screen every 3 seconds). Mario Power Tennis has power offensive and defensive moves which can't be turned off except in multiplayer. They add a neat new element to gameplay, but you have to watch a predone 2-3 second animation sequence every time. It's a bit disruptive to gameplay when these happen 3 or 4 times every rally. It can also be frustrating to see an opponent return an obvious winner after it's already past him. Again, it can be an interesting gameplay element, but they seriously should have included the option to disable it. Other than that, there's not a lot to complain about. Maybe unforced errors could be a bit more frequent. It may take you 10 tennis matches before you see a ball called out. The new gimmick courts are maybe the most significant addition from mario golf 64. Some of the are excellent fun.
[Anonymous] gave it a 10: I was a big fan of the n64 version of mario tennis, but this one blows it away.
Dan K. gave it a 9: Really great and addictive, specail move cutscenes get annoying and game can be a little repetitive.
Theo G. gave it a 10: Really good character design - all are different and have complementary strengths and weaknesses, not to mention really unique styles of movement so the difference between Boo and Waluigi is felt in the controller. GREAT party / drinking game.
