I give it a 5 as its only halfway there. It has some nice features, ease of use, handy tutorials, and good quality sounds. The problems lie in the amount of samples are limited. Not only are they limited in number but are limited in the style of music you are playing. If you are playing house you have house beats to choose from, but why cant you include a melody from trance? Other problems stem from not being able to merge samples creating your own unique sample where by you can look at the back end of that sample and add or take elements away from it. What I mean by that is you can only change the initial sample but that change effects that sample throughout the whole track. So if at the end of a 32 count you wanted to drop the last beat before a kicker on the 33rd you cant cos that dropped beat will be repeated and reflected throughout the whole track where you have that sample placed. The effects on sounds are also limited, as mentioned you cannot change the pitch. Id rate the quality of the sounds better than Music 2000 on PS1 but not nearly enough samples. The main pull of Music 2000 over this as a console music maker is that it just had so much more freedom to create your own unique samples. Sure it has a ripper tool but the length of which is way too short 4 bars in total...which means you cant download a killer lyric from one of ya faves which may say...go for 8 bars. Copy it in two sections I hear you say? Yeah right tried that but trying to match them up seemlessly is nearly impossible. Hmm they are on the right path just fell way short of expectations I believe there is a huuuuge market here with Online users submitting their home console made tracks. We just need a production team to do it right. The first time, not on version 3 or 4 etc but getting it right the first time and then being able to build on that franchise. Fingers crossed.

It is a good game to work with you have to know how to use it. You really have to have a passion for music like that.

This ware ownzorz, loads of great samples and build-in wave editor, if you like softwares like fruity loops, buy this for ps2 and you'll love it.

As stated already, no pitch control, and very limited amount of soundsto create very limited melodies. Boring! I started making music with Generator 1 on PS 1 and this just doesnt come close to it.

As Uter said, you can't change the pitch of the samples, making it impossible to sound good with anything other than drums. The provided samples only play F and G notes, if that. Simply put, it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a decent remix of anything with this game. If you want a game that does remixes better than MTV:MG3 AND also provides a fun game, buy FREQUENCY or AMPLITUDE.

Uter gave it a 7:
The game is only horrid if you're not into making music. Overall it's well done and easy to use. I just wish you could change the pitch of samples and have actual instruments involved. But that would make it much less user friendly, which i think is exactly what Codemasters probably didn't want.

Wow. I can create some rude chowns wid dis mon. It's a budding musicians paradise.

Mat W. gave it a 1:
This game is laaaammmmeeee. The first two are way better because they allow you to make actual samples. And the riff editor is way wack.

Tank D. gave it a 1:
This game is absolutely horrid. The reviewers must be on drugs.
