The average user rating for this Game is 7.3 out of 10 (based on 91 Votes).
Kevin R. gave it a 2: This game was promised to be a revolution in the gaming world. it was incredibly disappointing to find that the graphics were, for the most part, horrible, especially in the animated cut scenes, the driving levels were a joke, the environments were crappy and unrefined, there were some major glitches, the gameplay overall was bland and monotonous, and what the hell were the designers thinking when they made the last levels? ok, we are going to have the player just run for about 10 straight levels, then driving through some dark tunnels. wtf? the only fun parts were at the post office and power plant. other than that and the few cool things you could unlock in the hacking mode, this was a sorry excuse for an action game.
Ben S. gave it a 10: The hacking area was really useful when you are stuck on a level or you feel like blowing someones brains out. I do think it is a fun challanging game.
Neo chaos gave it a 10: I think that u iniots that diss this game are nucking futs!
Brotherevil B. gave it a 10: Very good.
Uter gave it a 2: This is the glitchiest game I've ever had the misfortune of playing.
Earlwin F. gave it a 6: The matrix is pretty good but it had some major flaws. The graphics were prtty descent but the gameplay was awful. It was a basic hack and slash. Punch punch punch kick kick kick. thats all you have to do to beat the game. Not challenging at all, any beginner can beat this game ina couple of hours. Don't waste your time or money on this game. The only cool part about the game was the movies in between the game that let you see seen from Matrix reloaded. Other than that don't waste your time.
Adam S. gave it an 8: True this game has it glitches, but if you are fan of the movies you will enjoy the cut scenes and most of the game play. The weakest part of the game is the vehicle levels, which are just not fun. Luckily they are easy to get through. The game is short but worth checking out.
Michael C. gave it a 7: Ya know, I actually had a lot of fun playing this game. Yeah, the gameply was lacking in some areas, and the character control wasn't what it should have been, but it was actually better than I expected it to be (movie license games are usually traumatic experiences). Also, if you're a fan of the movie, you'll enjoy the layer of depth it adds to the Matrix story. Altogether, a pretty cool game (not $50 cool, but cool).
Grady Y. gave it an 8: This game could have been better but It still fun hitting agents off a building, and killing people before they know your there.
Michael F. gave it a 5: Good until the newness wears off. Which happens after a few hours or so.
Joe M. gave it a 0: This game sucks because ,well, sure the tricks are nice but it would be even more nice if you saw someone walking down the street and doing those. Dammit,it's a video game!!! Of cource you can do anyting. And it's really hard. I almost had to press the A button three times.WOW!!!! It's gonna take me years to figure out how to beat this game. If i ever buy it.
Sam luke gave it a 10: I think it was very good I finished it and it was awesome the hacking makkkes it great.
Bob zilla gave it a 10: hot hot hot.
Alex B. gave it a 9: This is is brilliant, and should be bought, it was a bit short and took me about 3 days to complete it (not playing it constantly) but after that T then completed the game AGAIN with Niobe! Brill.
Wim Greyhair gave it a 1: Don't give Atari-grames your money! This game is terrible! Figures that the french would screw up what potentially could have been a great game.
Marcus B. gave it a 0: 1. This game stinks. Repetitive, boring and full of cliches. Typical movie franchise. 2. Learn to spell and conjugate, people.
James S. gave it a 10: The score says it all.
Jugster Jam gave it a 2: Spend your money and make them rich scheme. This game is bad, it should have been out in 1999. The graphics are just junk. Gameplay, jump kick shoot bulle-time like maxpayne. Controls and levels are similar to shinys messiah 1999(aka gutter levels). They are not going to get their act together unless people stop buying this game. Hocky maket scheme for kids, matrix fans to buy this game without thinking. So thier game messiah which came out in 1999 has better graphics then matrix.
Abbs sc gave it a 10: All those who gave it a 0 go get a life!!!!!!! This game is brilliant!!!!!! It is the best game ive ever played
Stick N. gave it a 5: If you really really like the movies get this game. If you sort of like the movie, then don't bother. The story isn't all that great, and the gameplay is awful. Some aspects of the game are outright cool, but beyond that the gameplay is not so good. The fighting is alright, but there are some issues. Overall it's a snorefest that could have been a lot better. I remember thinking about a hundred times that the original syphon filter had a better game engine. Also, who wants to play a matrix game and play as niobe or ghost?
Craig M. gave it a 10: Its cool!!!!!!!!!!
Tom F. gave it a 7: This game was solid, but could have been much better had Shiny paid more attention to the gameplay. Graphics and story were strong (lots of cool cut scenes), but the controls were awkward at best. Talk about "spraying" bullets; I had no idea where I was firing! Like so many games, weak attention to detail detracts from an otherwise entertaining title.
Ivan B. gave it a 10: As soon as u play this game your hooked. For people that gave this game under a 7, I just have to say first stop being sore losers! If your not good at the game than don't play it. Second, if u don't like it sell it to people who love it like me!
Beny G. gave it a 10: If you love the Matrix, you will love this game!!!!! Awesome!
Pain gave it a 7: Let's be honest gameplay and replay value are just not the same. As I played Enter the Matrix, there were definitely bugs that stood out: the pop up messages that would leave you clueless at times in knowing where to go or look, constant respawning of police/SWAT soldiers from out of thin air, no "directional damage" to signal if you are being shot from the left, right, top, or bottom (there were a number of times guns would be blasting like mad and you could not tell from where or who i.e. snipers), sound from the car engine in the driving sequences is just horrid, and finally the camera in tight spots is relentless in showing you a wall while you lay the smackdown on somebody. That was the bad stuff, the fight gameplay is rather satisfying (Focus Fighting) but I have asked myself "How Do I Do That Move Again !" A training dojo/mode i.e. the first Matrix against Morpheus would have been an awesome addition. Neo learned to fight before becoming "superman." The fighting somehow becomes the "glue" that holds the game together. Graphically much time was given to the ingame character models, however the bland underground evironments make you wish for a bright and sunny outdoor missions. Not to mention the boss fights were not all together challenging, excluding agents. Lastly replay value is one of my biggest areas of concern. The "sub" story line, yet interesting, will only give you a repetition of what and where to expect things a second time through, in addition to the bugs mentioned earlier. Skipping through the FMV will be your first choice and simply completing the missions, you already know the story. In all, the game definitely excels in Focus fighting gameplay and martial art acrobatics, but a number of things such as 2 player coop, unlocking more characters, secret/sub-missions, and different styles of fighting would have been great in building a more customized feel to the game (the wanting more principle). And this definitely would have left me guessing if, as in the movie, certain choices or decisions would determine the outcome of the game. Point being, having the ability to make tactical decisions as you play. Enter the Matrix is definitely a good game that could have been great. I suggest a rental before dropping the big 50.
Will gave it an 8: To matrix fans, GET THIS GAME!!! this unwraps the story and also is entertaining to watch. The gameplay is alright, the first time its fun, but rather boring and predictible the second time round. The storyline was obviously the focus. And seeing the plot from two characters is great. But this ain't no Resident Evil, And Resident Evil ain't this. This is the Matrix, have you taken the red pill?
Jordes C. gave it a 0: How can so many people give this piece of crap a 10 while acknowledging many of its shortcomings? This is the quintessential rush job with no replay value, and if it didn't have the Matrix name attached... well it would be a bargain bin special. Oh, and to "anonymous"--you're an idiot. Max Payne was 100 times better than this game. Also, learn to spell.
Tyler M. gave it a 10: Honestly I think the people who voted below 7 really need to stop being nerds and get outside this is about as good as it gets folks except some parts but still give it a hoot hoot.
MIKE T. gave it a 10: Simply the best movie-game tie in ever. and the focus is the best part of it all. the wachowski brothers have out-done yourselves once again.
James L. gave it an 8: Although there are a few problems, such as no camera control, some awkward animations (Ghost's sprint) and minor gameplay issues, the overall game is great. The levels are varied, which is a big plus. The 'Bullet Time' is also great. Overall, this game has just a few setbacks that prevent it from becoming outstanding.
Gigga lova gave it a 9: This game is amazing truly remarkable. I wish you could have more agents to fight though. great storyline grat graphics. Anyone who truly loves The Matrix wil truly love this game. Dont listen to all those people who give this game less than an 8 they dont know the Matrix Get this game! Im out
[Anonymous] gave it a 10: This game is sweet as hell, and is pretty hard to, the gameplay may suck, but you can get used to it, so all the people that are griping about it, get over it, the fighting is kickass, the bullet time is kickass, and even though the level with the car chasing the plane couldof been better, it did fit in the game, if you scene the Matrix reloaded, you definately need a chasing scene, I am so glad that i bought this, i was worried it was gonna be like max payne.
Kyle M. gave it a 10: The Gameplay is great and there is so much variety. It's the next resident evil!
John F. gave it a 7: Great fighting action and production but anyone who knows what gameplay means will be left wanting. Agree it seems to be crying out for the two stick control style, using a modifier button for strafe seems archaic.
Andy A. gave it a 10: It's great! ppl complaining need to get a life instead of playing so many damn video games.
Mark H. gave it a 10: It's awesome.
T. L. gave it an 8: Get past the slow start and some forgettable 'variety' levels (driving being one of them and a truly 'WTF is THIS' section) and the game is actually pretty fun. Once you get the mechanics down it's all about the money shot focus finishes. Some parts I played over again just to watch the take downs. It's a good game, just maybe not worth the $80 CDN I payed for it.
Joey S. gave it an 8: The game is a very good, but the levels need to be longer and more Agents need to be in it but other that that the game should be in every ones Top 10 list E-mail me if you have any Q's userxxx2099@yahoo.com
Dan T. gave it a 7: If youve ever wanted to be in the movie, this is the closest youll ever get. Exciting fighting with an inventive way to implement the bullet-time technology into your battles, and a great story that adds and fills in parts of Reloaded. Over an hour of extra dvd footage of Reloaded, following story of Ghost and Niobe doing what they do while Neo and Morpheus work though the Reloaded story. A draw back is the awkward control style that is fairly customizable, but lacks the two stick movement control but the great dvd footage and extra story depth makes up for it.
Rob P. gave it a 10: The game rules...any fan of The Matrix movies needs to check this out...the moves rule and the action never stops.
Phil T. gave it a 1: Big big disappointment.
Fred Flinstone gave it a 10: Sick!!!!!!!!
Karen S. gave it a 9: Very good game.
Game Sucks gave it a 0: Don't waste your money on this one; the gameplay sucks. It could have been a good game, but they fixed the camera behind and over your character leading to awkward movement. It's also extremely repetitive.
Em gave it a 7: Wish I could give a higher score, because everything BUT the gameplay is excellent. So much of the atmosphere of the film universe is actually intact, and that in itself is an amazing achievement. Special kudos to the beautiful incorporation of FMV and the film score -- really the best use of music in a game that I've ever experienced! Also, at least as far as I've played, great "focus" (yeah, intended) on decent story elements to immerse the player in the sense of a self-propelled cinematic adventure (even if the characters sometimes move like the wooden puppets on Thunderbirds...). All these points should have resulted in a 9+ score . . . EXCEPT the gameplay when using weapons is shockingly terrible, impossible to aim w accuracy unless you rely totally on auto-target -- which means you have to have your right trigger held down through an entire shoot-out and you also have to enjoy watching your character shoot uncontrollably at airport railings, fire escapes, tv monitors, etc etc while the baddies are air-conditioning your skull. The hand to hand kung fu is idiotically simple but kinda fun -- and the need to use the Focus "bullet time" (left trigger) in tandem makes it a challenge as enemies get tougher. But it's hard to forgive a fight-centric game that boasts a generally crippled targeting feature, a first-person view that is worse than useless (help, I can't move..!) and also stupidly easy to toggle on by mistake (right joystick tap) in the middle of a fight, and uses the little black/white buttons for your weapons fire. Really, the controls needed to be much more customizable (three control mappings, with only one using a trigger for weapons fire) for such a button-heavy game. But it's all moot since you can't aim anyway... Nice try, check it out definitely, think twice before buying it!
Glen bull gave it a 0: this is rubbish and i h8 it so much and i h8 clemo but the movie was good.
Phoenix Rage gave it a 3: This game is an example of a gleam of potential lost in a whirlwind of disaster. To start with its good points, the hand to hand combat is dead on and possibly some of the best outside of an actual fighting game. The storyline is deep and complex, but that's to be expected since it is by the same writers of the movie. Seeing that the game was shot with the same equipment that was used for the movie, it's not surprising that it has some of the best CGs that I've seen in a while. Now here's where the problems start. As much as I appreciate CGs, if you don't time them properly they will slow down gameplay to a crawl which happens often in this game. Go across a hallway, fight a guard, CG, fight two guards, CG, etc. The camera angles are horrible, only worsened by the atrocious game controls. Who ever thought of dedicating a joystick to switching between 1st and 3rd person? This is where hand to hand combat hurts as well, since the camera will auto swing to your side when fighting, which can be a health killer when you're surrounded by enemies. The graphics for this game are below xbox standard considering that they had been bragging about the visual orgy that it was supposed to deliver. The hacking system is unique but foolish making a make believe version of DOS that is simply a game of connect the dots to open features. All in all, a great game that should've been done by either a better developer or should have been postponed for another 6-8 months of development.
Tom P. gave it a 9: What are yo going on about?.....awful gameplay?......NAH!! there are a few minor slip ups with the graphics but lets be honest. ITS BRILLIANT!!! who doesnt want to run up walls and dive around kicking ass??
Willy Wonka gave it a 10: What a game, Chris Waddle (the end boss) is so cool you don't wanna beat him, but I did, I finished it, and the ending is anything but dissapointing, Enter The Matrix is one of the best games ever, a must for all fans of the film! 10 out of 10!
Culluket gave it a 4: Ack. Go play Max Payne instead.
Jake gave it a 7: To be honest.... The matrix universe is so cool and so immersive that it can raise any games to an acceptable level. That is the case with enter the matrix. The gameplay is not good enough majors annoying stuff, the graphics are sometimes good sometimes bad (the flinstones wheels cant be forgiven sorry!!! ) Music is great, Martial arts are easy to use maybe a little too easy but it is a lot of fun doing stuff they do in the film. And Cinematics are just like seeing more from the movie... very impressive..... So let's say without the Wachowski borthers.... I would probably rate a 2 or 3 but i give it a 7 because of the cinematics and the work of Wo ping for combats. And of course Wonderful cinematics
Hammertime gave it a 9: This game rocks!!!!!! Truthfully I wasn't expecting much, man was I Surprised!!!!!! Finally a game from a movie that kicks ass!!!! unlike the EA robbery, cashing in on the cash cow "Lord of the Rings". Great job Atari!!!!
D. B. gave it a 9: Incredible martial arts action! Great integration of the movie's "Bullet Time" effect into game play. Good graphics, interesting plot. Free your mind!
Sebastion W. gave it a 9: Some of us have been caught up in the hype of the Matrix, but I have just discovered how well fleshed out the experience is. Before I settled down to play the Enter the Matrix game on PC, I had seen the Animatrix short "Final Flight of the Osiris." To my surprise, the game picks up exactly where the FFOTO leaves off and my suspension of disbelief was complete. I have not been so immersed in an experience before. From the outset, you can choose between Niobe or Ghost. Personally, I like this approach as it helps to flesh out the characters who may not have much screen time as Neo, Trinity and the others we have grown to admire. The graphics and animation are great but nothing to write home about. It has played well on my Geforce3 and 1800XP system with no glitches so far. The sounds and movies mesh perfectly with the Matrix experience. The bullet time was better done in Max Payne but the ability gives your character many more options for survival as you will need them for the more difficult missions. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to everyone who appreciates the Matrix mythos and suggest that one does not miss all the multimedia experiences that the Wachowski brothers have to offer. After all, no one can tell you what the Matrix is.
Loki SUX! Yes U do! gave it a 9: Sounds like Loki Is a Fanboy!! Or a Troll which ever u prefer!! This game Is lookin better & better...
Rated r gave it a 0: I'm sorry but I'm an avid gamer so I know what a good game is supposed to play like. This game plays like crap. NO gameplay whatsoever. I loved the movie too however, this game nothing like the film. Dont believe the hype. It has Great graphics, great sound effects, great marketing scheme, and unfortunately THE WORST GAMPLAY. I gave this little puppy a good chance too, almost two hours worth of playing time and I no longer can deal with its horrific gameplay. I'm Done. Return it for brute force may 29th. trust me.
Bullettime Neo gave it a 10: I love this game because it has SUPER slow motion scene's. Gamers who love watching the movie wil be very happy when playing this game. If i need to say in 2 words i say : It Rocks. :D
Pvd theking gave it an 8: This game has the best fight sceens i have ever encountered!! BY FAR!! the martial arts are reminiscent of the MAtrix itself! My only gripe is the controls whenever you are NOT fighting, they are almost the worst i have ever seen, but since you fight most of the time it is forgiving. Also the part when you follow that aeroplane you are given the worst hadling car i have ever, EVER had the pleasure to control in a game. This part is un-necessary as the game is a fighting game not a racing one! Apart from that the game is damn brilliant!!!
Loki gave it a 1: Well, I just bought it and played it after seeing the AMAZING movie...and I'm gonna go see if I can return it. It's the worst waste of a shiney disk I've seen in a long time. The FMV is beautiful DVD quality, this is true, but other than that there's nothing good I can say about it. It's a game made for hype; the character models are all beautifully rendered but they move in an increadibly stilted manner which destroys any effect they were going for. The controls are abyssmal, bad to the point where you really can't actually enjoy the game, you're too busy trying to get and keep anything in sight. Seriously folks, get Max Payne or Halo, this is a waste of time
J T gave it a 9: Great Game, Graphics are amazing!!!! Go Jada>>>>
Simon L. gave it a 7: While being set in the world of the "Matrix" is cool enough to support almost any type of game, Enter The Matrix seems to be a victim of its own hype. Gamers expecting to play as one of their favorite characters (Neo, Trinity, etc.) will only be able to choose between two hovercraft lackeys, either one of which will support the other during the game depending on who you choose. Overvall this is your standard 3rd person melee game with a green tint, "bullet time" fx ala Max Payne, and a frustrating camera that seems possessed. The extra film footage from the Matrix is a definite plus that will help understand the Matrix Reloaded film, but full motion video make a great game not.
Morpheous gave it a 10: Game is AWESOME!!! C'mon how can you not wanna beat the crap out of someone in slow motion. The effects are great. Now I'm really excited to see the movie tomorrow. If you like the Matrix in general you will love this game...
[Anonymous] gave it a 10: This game is so awesome, and insanely hard, in one part you get to face wave after wave of SWAT paratroopers, and a helicopter gunner, all in bullettime goodness... best game ever.
[Anonymous] gave it an 8: Solid game with some nice features! :)
Sell Out gave it a 10: This is really REALLY good (take that, Ben D.!!)
Neo M. gave it a 10: This game ain't even out yet!
