judi b gave it a7: Oversentimentalized novel- The author even admits this tendency. However, lots of insightful detail. I was able to take breaks and put the book down and actually had a hard time finishing it.

JR Moehringer is an extremely gifted writer whose sensitivity and insight put him at the top of his profession.
